Hillsong is joining ranks with not just atrocious heretics like Morris Curello. Hillsong is stooping to a new level of cult-like anti-intellectualism. This article consists of two articles from the Christian Post. The first article informs readers how Hillsong NY ‘Pastor’ Carl Lentz is involved in ‘The Heart Revolution’.
From the Christian Post,
“The Heart Revolution conference will be a historic moment in the life of pastors and leaders who are hungry for what’s now and next in ministry,” said Sergio de la Mora, pastor of Cornerstone Church of San Diego.
The annual conference is held with the purpose to ignite an internal change within all participants so they may begin to create a change in their communities. This year, the event will focus on imparting the notion of “set your city on fire,” because de la Mora believes cities across the country are “waiting for the church to rise up, take their place and kindle a revival fire that will awaken the hearts of marriages, businesses, and churches.”
“A revolution is the result of someone who has set up a standard or a precedence that needs to be overthrown because the people there are being persecuted and filled with pain as a result of the standard,” said de la Mora. “They don’t have the sense of freedom and liberation and that’s what The Heart Revolution is all about, it’s about living, loving and leading from your heart.”
The event will feature workshops aimed to equip leaders with tools that will challenge them to create an ever changing and growing culture within their own ministries. These sessions will discuss topics on developing a creative worship team and youth ministry, marketing the church, launching a Spanish ministry, creating discipleship programs and more.
In addition, a Passionate Pastors seminar led by Hispanic megachurch pastor Obed Martinez will take place to foster an experience among participants who will learn about initiating change through influence while networking with like-minded leaders.
In the past, the event has rallied renowned evangelists and pastors as keynote speakers, including T.D. Jakes, Art Sepulveda, Rick Warren, Marcos Witt and more. This year, The Heart Revolution will feature international evangelist, Morris Cerullo, Hillsong New York City pastor Carl Lentz, megachurch pastors Chris Hill, Benny Perez and Casey Treat, among others. In addition, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) President Samuel Rodriguez will participate as a speaker.
Cornerstone Church of San Diego is the largest Latino-led church in the city with several campuses throughout southern California, Arizona and Mexico. In 2009, Outreach Magazine named it the third fastest growing church in America, and remained in the top 10 list until 2012.

To demonstrate how irrational and deceiving “The Heart Revolution” conference is, the Christian Post reported on a message of the Heart Revolution speaker, “Pastor” Obed Martinez. (See if this man makes any sense.)
Here is the Christian Post article:
Heart Revolution Speaker Calls Out Churches For Lacking in Message of Faith
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – There is more to the Gospel message than simply “hope,” there’s “faith” as well, said Pastor Obed Martinez during The Heart Revolution conference last week.
“Hope is the hook for the unbeliever but faith is the anchor ‘in the now.’ When we preach to an unbeliever, we preach ‘hope’ which is inspiration, [then] we bring them into faith which is the ‘now’ [and also considered a] revelation, and then they become overwhelmed by love which is ‘impartation.’ But sometimes we only preach ‘hope’ and that’s why they don’t walk out with faith and that’s why they can’t move mountains,” Martinez said.
For the last nine years, Martinez has been pastoring Destiny Church in the California Coachella Valley alongside his wife Lissette. Initially, what began as a humble meet-up of only a few families in a living room has grown into a multicultural and multigenerational church where thousands have been impacted. During his message, Martinez focused on the disservice that some churches create for unbelievers when hindering their ability to embrace radical faith.
Martinez noted that the common issue found in the church is that there is no demonstration of follow-up after the spoken word each Sunday. He told the crowd at Cornerstone Church of San Diego, the host location for the conference, that faith is something in the present moment, and hope lies in the future. Because this distinction is not overly emphasized in churches, people oftentimes do not understand the function of a church, which is “driven by an unseen world,” he said.
“My concern for the church is that we’re preaching to an audience of unbelievers and all we do is preach hope, that’s why people walk out inspired by they don’t walk out with revelation. We know what Jesus can do but He’s not doing it in the midst of us,” Martinez said. “This is what is crippling the church, we cast the net to people so they can believe that their future is much better than their now and yet we don’t realize that the reason that our future is delayed is because we’re not handling the things we should be now.”
He also noted a recurring theme in many preachers’ messages about placing an importance on “what will come” versus “what can occur.” According to Martinez, this is another problem that the church needs to identify in order to begin a transformation.
“Every time we speak on hope, we talk about what’s going to come, ‘Oh, God is about to bless you, get ready, something is about to happen.’ But what you’re speaking is about the future and not faith, because faith is always present, it’s right now,” Martinez said.
In order to change that message, he says churches must first understand the “crippling” that occurs among them. He uses the illustration of the Biblical story about Lazarus’ sister, Martha, to give conference goers a clear perspective on his point.
“Martha is the picture of how the church is functioning in their thinking today. In the Bible, she sees Jesus and the first thing she says is, ‘Lord if you would’ve been here earlier my brother Lazarus wouldn’t have died,’ and that’s the church talking about its past. Then she says, ‘I know he will resurrect with you on the day of the resurrection,’ that’s the church talking about its future. It’s interesting that she was present with Jesus, and she was talking about her past and future but she couldn’t discern the ‘right now’,” Martinez said.
He talked about a person’s transformation in terms of a metamorphosis, such as butterflies experience.
“God speaks about transformation not change in the Bible. You see, a caterpillar is who you were while you were in Egypt, you were crawling, beneath not above, you were the tail, not the head. Once you left the life of a caterpillar, you stepped into the cocoon, which is your wilderness, your transition and process but once you stepped into the promise land, you became a butterfly. There’s always a three way process in how God is transforming your life,” Martinez said.
During the conclusion of his message, he added, “I’m tired of churches preaching change and keeping people in the process of a cocoon, they’re butterflies but they’re still crawling, they got wings but they’re still looking for their feet,” Martinez said. “We ought to start preaching church reformation, it’s time that the church changes its altitude and begins to soar above the mountains.”

First off, where did “Pastor” Martinez get his crazy teaching from in the bible?
Secondly, Martinez stated that “a recurring theme in many preachers’ messages” is “about placing an importance on “what will come” versus “what can occur”. But wasn’t this theme evident in his own message?
Furthermore, Martinez stated that, “the church needs to identify” the correct problems “in order to begin a transformation”. Isn’t transformation change? Is this not confirming that Martinez IS the problem he is condemning?
He said, “God speaks about transformation [change] not change in the Bible.” How does this make any sense?
“Pastor” Martinez said in the conclusion of his message, “I’m tired of churches preaching change and keeping people in the process of a cocoon”. How is he any different to those “churches” when he concludes, “it’s time that the church changes its altitude…”?
Finally, his gnostic interpretation of the resurrection of Lazarus is laughable. Who knew that Martha represented the church! Who else gained such deep insight behind her words?
Yet Hillsong NY “Pastor” Carl Lentz spoke at this event with “Pastor” Martinez? Truly this is a case of the blind leading the blind. What we are seeing emerge from the Word of Faith and Seeker Sensitive movements are cults of personalities. They are movements that counterfeit Christianity and instead advertise their personal brands above the “Name above all names”. Jesus is their only ticket to their claim to fame. Therefore, if you have any loved ones involved in the Hillsong Church cult, get them out in Jesus name.
I’m not a Hillsong Church member but I believe that this post is unnecessarily harsh. I personally don’t find any fault with what this Pastor is saying and your attempts to discredit it don’t make sense either. Now this is not a personal attack or anything but perhaps before posting you should have considered the picture he was trying to paint.
Whether he is pushing his own agenda in Jesus’ Name does not mean that the Church is not “crippled” too many churches worldwide have become entertainment centres and like he said too many preach hope but not Faith and as a result many new believers fall away because when tribulations came they could not stand in Faith.
I think it’s a reality that “Church” is failing the body of believers because they are more concerned about keeping up attendance instead of discipleship(which is our Commission in any case.)
“I’m not a Hillsong Church member but I believe that this post is unnecessarily harsh. I personally don’t find any fault with what this Pastor is saying and your attempts to discredit it don’t make sense either. Then you would probably dislike the scriptures which teach us how to deal with false teachers like Morris Curello, Carl Lentz and Martinez. If people like yourself would just stand up and say, “Enough of your light shows and bible twisting” then you could actually be part of the solution.
Martinez slapped the reformers in the face when he said, “God speaks about transformation not change in the Bible”. If you want to lead the church back to apostate Rome, keep sidelining the elephant in the room.
