BRIAN HOUSTON LIED
When Brian Houston released his media statement over dropping Driscoll for Hillsong Conference 2015, media outlets around the world, petitioners and people in general, understood that Driscoll wasn’t speaking at Hillsong Conference 2015.
Christians and protestors expressed that they did not want the disgraced and unrepentant Mark Driscoll to be given a platform at this global event. Brian Houston, to remove the distraction to his conference and quieten the objections of Driscoll getting the platform, released this statement:

Brian Houston’s statement gave the impression that Mark Driscoll was not going to be given the platform or speak at Hillsong Conference 2015. The fact is this: Brian Houston lied.
The interview between Mark Driscoll and Brian Houston did happen.
Brian Houston lied by omission. He covered up and mislead Christians and the international media through tricky words and technicalities. He did not livestream this event through the internet like he has done with his other sessions.
Furthermore, we have also noticed that there were no twitter, instagram or facebook commotion over Driscoll speaking at Hillsong Conference. So the question is, did Hillsong somehow communicate to attendees not to promote the Driscoll interview on social media?
One of our valued critics who is pro-Hillsong reported to us:
“Brian Houston has just talked to Mark and Grace Driscoll in a prerecorded interview at Hillsong Conference. Driscoll was very contrite, and Brian did ask some tough questions.”

However, Brian Houston did give Mark Driscoll the platform TODAY (30th of June) in spite of this information being absent for the Hillsong Conference 2015 Diary.

Here is also Rick Warren acknowledging the Brian Houston with Mark Driscoll interview at Hillsong Conference 2015:

And I trust them for the very reason of what you just saw so brilliantly portrayed in the Mark Driscoll interview. Truth and grace together. Truth and grace together.

When you look at Brian Houston’s misleading media statement, we pointed out this sentence:
“It is my hope that Mark and I will be able to speak in person in the coming weeks to discuss some of the issues that have been raised, what – if anything – he has learned, and for me to understand better how he is progressing in both his personal and professional life.” [Source]
We said back on the 8th of June (2015),
“It’s interesting to note that Brian Houston deliberately wrote that he STILL wants to speak with Mark Driscoll “IN PERSON in the coming weeks to discuss some of the issues that have been raised.” How long is “in the coming weeks?” Does this mean Mark Driscoll is STILL going to fly over to Australia? Is this meeting with Brian going to be private or public, and will Mark STILL be speaking, but just not at the Hillsong Conference?
Seeing how some churches are responding to Mark Driscoll, and knowing how Houston operates, it would not surprise us at all if Brian Houston does invite Driscoll to speak at Hillsong Church prior to the Hillsong Conference. After all, Driscoll is still meeting with Houston and “will be able to speak in person in the coming weeks to discuss some of the issues that have been raised”.” [Source]
We realised Brian Houston was up to something. However, we personally believed Brian Houston would not allow Driscoll to speak at the Hillsong Conference because he said this in his statement,
“However, I do not want unnecessary distractions during our conference, particularly as this 30 minute interview was only a small part of this five day event. It was clear to me that Mark’s attendance had the potential to divert attention from the real purpose of Hillsong Conference, which is to see people leave encouraged in their own spiritual journey.”
Little did we know just how deceitful Brian Houston would be over his wording. Like others, we feel duped for believing his media statement at all. We should have been smarter than this and learnt earlier when Brian Houston publicly lied about the ACA media story in his media statement not long ago.

You shouldn’t be the one apologizing. If anyone should be able to be trusted it should the “leader” of a “Christian” church. The enormity of the lie-by-omission immediately makes Houston fail the checklist. How can a deceiver be blameless?

It was a surprise … Mark Driscoll didn’t attend Hillsong Conference, it was only a pre-recorded interview (made in the US. Probably no forewarning due to the likely over focus on it). Yes Mark Driscoll seemed very humbled & repentant of his questionable attitudes & words. More importantly was Brian’s sensitive encouragement that though genuine repentance & God’s amazing grace (He can work all for good) the best is yet to come.

Key word – seemed. That’s wishful thinking. Mark Driscoll in his unrepentance and sin has progressed from bad to worse. No wonder Brian Houston is attracted to his sins and apostasy. Brian attracts the frauds. The line up of speakers is proof.

How would you expect him to act? He knows he’s being watched. He can’t afford any more slip-ups. He hasn’t changed, but he has fooled you.

If either one of these two men weren’t successful, the other wouldn’t dare be seen with him in public. These scam churches are based on image.

I just fell upon your website. I feel really sad for you. You should actually put effort towards something that makes a difference in the world. This is all pretty pathetic. Hillsong is making a global difference while you’re judging their motives and actions under a microscope. There are a lot of decisions behind the scenes that you have no idea how they’ve come to those decisions. They’ve admitted they haven’t done everything right and they don’t claim to. If anyone is questioning the motives of Rick Warren or Brian Houston, they’re way off.
Do you continue to approve of politicians whom you vote for who make a clear promise, then break that same promise using fine print in order to do so? e.g. “it’s not a tax, it’s a subsidy…”, “it’s not censorship, it’s classifying information for security purposes”, “there’ll be no Carbon Tax -> [backflip] now it’s needed to form government…”
If not, why do you have different standards for “Christian” leaders you approve of?
At HS conf this week: I am impressed, encouraged & grateful for the high standard of bible based teaching. Joseph Prince emphasised Jesus amazing grace & how knowing awesome God transforms / inspires repentance. Rick Warren gave simple but great guidelines to “hear” God: time away from distractions (be quiet & relaxed), pray, ask specific questions, read & meditate on God’s word… wait (perhaps overnight), write down impressions / answers … check out with other Godly believers. Jentezen Franklin passionately challenged young people to get away from “weapons of mass distraction” & destructive peer pressure, to follow God’s call. John Maxwell gave awesome examples of how effectively communicating Godly principles led thousands of non believers to Jesus. Cool Carl Lentz inspired all to be more like Jesus. Brian & Bobbie Houston encouraged with their ever maturing, humble & inspiring leadership …
Rick Warren’s now sounding like a Charismatic minus “speaking in tongues”. The late Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries (Google it) covered his chameleon-like tendencies in great detail. Rick Warren is a subject listed in categories section.

In that case, maybe Hillsong NYC should stop using the Bible altogether, since they’re not interested in what it says, and switch to teaching from comic books instead.

The Mark Driscoll interview was played during the Let’s Talk Church session. If you look at the schedule you have you will see that none of the days of the schedule had any details for Let’s Talk Church. The Driscoll interview was not played during the following Masterclass as you erroneously indicate. And it’s a pity that Chris Rosebrough parroted your wrong information as if it were gospel.
