Jordan Hall rightly calls out the bullying, the lies and disgusting slander Carl Lentz and Brian Houston pulled on Christianity in this below episode of Pulpit&Pen.
Hall played the audio of Brian Houston the previous year, exposing the fact that Houston lied in his recent media statement in regards to the Broadway Couple’s sexual status and Hillsong leadership status. Hall then reads out the Religious News Service story that only acted as a propaganda piece to further Hillsong and allow Carl Lentz to launch a disgraceful, slanderous and malicious attack on Christian churches who do not align themselves to the Hillsong way of doing church (40:00).
Jordan Hall points out how Carl Lentz falsely accuses the Christian church for killing homosexuals. And how Carl Lentz then uses this disgraceful attack to imply that these churches are not churches at all.
Pulpit & Pen report:
Podcast: Mohler Discusses Openly Secular – Awkward
In today’s episode of Pulpit & Pen, JD answers a few sincere questions and then plays audio from Albert Mohler discussing Openly Secular’s role in a football star “coming out of the closet” as an atheist – which his colleague, SEBTS President Danny Akin endorsed. Awkward. Then, JD discusses Hillsong’s “smoking gun” and attempts to sanitize Hillsong’s Downgrade.

Appears that Brian H could have some more ‘explaining’ to do if he wants to rebut the evidence . . . . How very sad that he apparently is ‘open’ to all kinds of ‘damahr control. . . . By their fruit you will know them ?
don’t blame the hillsong
Who should be blamed for the lies then?
* first class impersonators (actors and crew really should receive Oscars or equivalent)
* Houston and Lentz are really puppets of Illuminati/ New World Order/ aliens/ Vatican/ ISIS (under their physical control/ brainwashed/ blackmailed)
No – most logical answer is achieved by looking at the evidence provided* : Houston and Lentz say/do whatever they can to save Hillsong in the short-term (even if dubious reasoning/ strategies are needed to reach that goal e.g. personally attack other churches/ Christians showing Hillsong’s errors) because Hillsong Church is all that matters.
Therefore YOU Hillsongees** should bear responsibility for Hillsong leaders’ words and conduct i.e. LIES. You’re only getting what you pay for.
YOU want great music and positive pep-talks and don’t give two hoots about clear Christian teachings.
YOU choose to ignore poor conduct of your church leaders (e.g. lying to media for PR reasons).
YOU attack other Christians trying to wake you up out of your spiritually comatose state, like heroin addicts lash out at health personnel who give them treatment for heroin overdoses because ” you’ve taken away my HIGH” .
YOU want experiences and Hillsong does everything to provide that because of Profit$. If sales slumped/ church attendances dropped (because YOU Hillsongees decided to now build your faith on Jesus Christ NOT “ooey gooey feelings” from mindless musical mantras) Hillsong would try to change marketing strategies as fast as a chameleon changes colours.
*Dr. Phil ‘s rule-of-thumb “the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour.”
** 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when THEY will not endure sound doctrine; but after THEIR own lusts shall they heap to THEMSELVES teachers, having itching ears; 4 And THEY shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
“Houston and Lentz are really puppets of Illuminati/ New World Order/ aliens/ Vatican/ ISIS (under their physical control/ brainwashed/ blackmailed)”
if a-pope-state BH invited dalai lama & the pope to speak at hillsong (or via a taped interview lol), the majority of hillsong cult devotees would prolly be unoffended, maybe even delighted. “one weirld church” here it comes, nfg
btw, you hillsong ppl have to decide at what point enough is enough. at what point are you going to leave. how much ridiculous nonsense can you put up with from BH?
nfg
“don’t blame the hillsong”
How about if we blame the brian?
Seeing that this thread is about so called “church” leaders being caught out in lying in public and on social media, I thought that it might be a good idea to see what happened in years and centuries gone by. To see what kind of character and forebearance the saints of earlier ages went through in order to defend and spread the Gospel… so,
here’s an interesting excerpt from Jonathon Edwards, a key figure in great revivals of the past, commenting on the simplicity and great power of the Gospel, and its effects on the Roman Empire, against all commers.
Although something in the vicinity of 10 million Christians were martyred in the first 300 years of Church history, they finally overcame the Roman beast kingdom in that day, by “…the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony…” Revelation 12:11
“At first, the gospel was preached only by a few fishermen, who were without power and worldly interest to support them. It was not their craft and policy that produced this wonderful effect; for they were poor illiterate men.
It was the notions and not the agreeableness of the story they had to tell to the notions and principles of mankind. We [had] no pleasant fable: a crucified God and Saviour was to the Jews a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness. It was not the agreeableness of their doctrines to the dispositions of men: for nothing is more contrary to the corruption’s of men than the pure doctrines of the gospel.
This effect therefore can have proceeded from no other cause then the power and agency of God: and if the power of God was thus exercised to cause the gospel to prevail, then the gospel is his word; for surely God does not use his almighty power to promote a mere imposture and delusion.”

Scroll down to section III to read the excerpt in context…
The early church preachers and teachers never had radio, TV or the Internet, yet at the end of the 10 persecutions mounted by various Roman Emperors, whole towns were converted, pagan temples and brothels/wine bars were emptied, as the church marched forward, in lockstep with the Gospel as both its sword and shield.
Yes, there were problems with various cults, sects and false prophet type individuals and groups, so it wasn’t a perfect time by any means, but those who were entrusted with the oversight of the churches and the spreading of the Gospel had virtually reached the borders of the empire in that time.
And Brian Houston and his cohorts think that they can pass themselves off as ‘pastors’ and leaders in this ‘Hill$ong’ style of “church”…? There’s just no comparison – none at all…
This is the same old athiest-with-reformed-religion jargon as the last time I visited this penny dreadful blog.
I will keep checking this site for anything Christ-Centered and edifying.
Listening to Simply Worship and praying in tongues and reading a non-King James New Testament on my daily commute from the city.
Scrivener.
“Awesome” @therealpdscrivener – go for it! Hope someone interprets your tongues biblically for you. We will continue to read our ESV, NASB or earlier versions of the NIV etc (and yes even the KJV/NKJV) while checking out your blog? Last updated in 2012? Fantastic that so many are subscribing to your “awesome” blog.
In the meantime for your edification:

Are you being sarcastic?
Thanks for the headsup on sermon audio.
I haven’t added anything to the blog. I forgot it was there. I like the idea of being a writer but I may not have it in me.
I will look to you for ideas though.
I like lists. Maybe if I get back to the awesome blog I will write lists.
“Maybe if I get back to the awesome blog”
Awesome blog? You can find more text on the reverse of a bubble gum card.
“I haven’t added anything to the blog. I forgot it was there. I like the idea of being a writer but I may not have it in me.”
You remind me of Brian Houston: he hasn’t preached anything from the Bible because he forgot it was there, and he likes the idea of being a pastor but he simply doesn’t have it in him.
“I haven’t added anything to the blog. I forgot it was there. I like the idea of being a writer but I may not have it in me.”
Skrivener ‘forgot’ his blog was there, yet ‘remembered’ this blog was here? Strange.
I can tell Skrivener reads that non-King James New Testament a lot….Skrivener’s blog sure is filled with ‘lots of helpful info.’
Wonder if Skrivener even understands what they’re reading?
“the same old athiest-with-reformed-religion jargon”
Though I am not of a Reformed background (I come from a Charismatic background), what is interesting to note is that Reformed brethren generally seem to be far more knowledgable of Scripture AND church History than Charismatic tongue-talkers who generally seem to base their faith on the ‘experiential.’
One could in fact argue that the Charismatic movement, rather then being a spiritual ‘revival’, was more a clever tool to distract believers so that less time is spent in the Bible and more time is spent chasing around so-called ‘signs.’
Well Mr ‘Scrivener’, I hope you’re not using our valuable airspace to bag the likes of Jonathon Edwards. He’d get more sinners saved over breakfast than you would on a dozen ‘commute runs’.
As for the fake Bibles, I’d say that you are ‘par for the course’ when it comes to some of our detractors – they love to erect their smoke screens first, make themselves look good in front of the crowd (self righteous) and then they babble-on about how good things are on their side of the fence.
But as for me, I will follow the Lord and stay on my side of that fence, because the scriptures tell me plainly and clearly that the dead grass on the other paddock won’t feed any sheep, but it’s OK as a small pen to coral the local goats in…
Thanks Apology
Here’s a good blog post for you to consider (relevant to Non-USA people too): http://www.firebreathingchristian.com/archives/7338
Thank you Thinker.
“I haven’t added anything to the blog. I forgot it was there.”
How could you forget it was there, you referenced it from your post ❓
Well, if none of the above has made any sense to Hill$ong supporters, take a look at what happens when an alleged “prosperity cult” starts to take a nosedive, because their financial boat begins to sink:
http://kennethcopelandblog.com/2011/06/09/copelands-financial-titanic-is-sinking-faster/
Thanks Apollo.
I also found a link to all those hillsongers who pester you in your comment section. This one isnt dated 2011 but 2015. http://www.kcm.org/about-us
They include a statement of financial accountability with contact details and real people answering the phone in Regional Australian office. Like who do these people think they are?
Love and mercy,
Scrivener
They’re still on TV aren’t they? http://wrvo.org/post/onscreen-out-sight-tv-preachers-avoid-tax-scrutiny
Above 2014 report certainly sounds like Copelands are still obscenely wealthy.
“They include a statement of financial accountability with contact details and real people answering the phone in Regional Australian office. Like who do these people think they are?”
Yeah Skrivener, KCM is such a flourishing ministry. Kenneth Popeland meeting with whom his website deems as ‘his holiness’ last year. Wanna go join him on his next mission trip there, Skrivener?
“They include a statement of financial accountability with contact details and real people answering the phone in Regional Australian office. Like who do these people think they are?”
Mormons and JWs also have real people who answer phone calls and post annual accounts on their websites, where appropriate. Perhaps you’d like to explain to the blog, just how this legitimises their doctrine and practice. The church has been calling out both groups as cults, for more than 100 years…
The point of posting that link (which is a reminder – it’s been posted here before) is so that people won’t forgrt that Rich Vermillion and his wife were a part of KCM for many years.
Their information is mostly first hand, and where it isn’t, it comes from reliable ‘whistle blowers’ who are still inside, or close to KCM staffers. Oh, and there’s just that small matter of a US senate enquiry some years back… Maybe it’s time we had one into reprobate Mega Churches here in Australia?
There is no profit in them hosting that website, in fact, the Vermillions have already appeared in court over the name of it, and won on the merits of the case.
The best thing you can do, @therealpdscrivener, is imbibe more truth and less error – happy commuting… choo choo choose truth and not error… choo choo choo 🙂
Actually, critics of the KCM organisation in the US believed some years back that they were going broke…
Hi folks – I’ve tracked down a more recent report on the US Senate findings about KCM – dated September 11…
http://www.wfaa.com/story/news/local/investigates/2011/01/06/senate-audit-critical–tv-preacher-kenneth-copeland/13660222/
The reason I’m posting all of this info is so that readers can see for themselves what happens when an organisation, claiming to be a “church”, does with the money of those who give lavishly – it ends up in lavish lifestyles for the leaders, with virtually no accountability to the givers (called ‘partners’ at KCM).
That is the thrust of this thread – Jordan Hall is calling out Hill$ong for being a BUSINESS and for NOT being a bona fide church… KCM is a graphic example of what happens 30 years on, under those conditions:
1. A 6 million $ mansion on acreage,
2. half a dozen aircraft – the biggest one cost $20 million, and is often used for ‘shopping’ trips and expensive holidays?
3. Combined salaries in excess of $600,000 annually, plus perks…
4. Some 15 family members on the ministry payroll…
5. Their own privat airstrip…
…and all of this came off the backs of hard working, family oriented people, who are now sruggling to make ends meet, under a much deflated US economy, while KCM leaders enjoy an opulent lifestyle that some millionaires would envy…
Here’s another link which illustrates the lifestyles and some assets of those rich American televangelists:
http://www.inplainsite.org/html/tele-evangelist_lifestyles.html
@tarrick cost – looks like those naughty boys and girls got their degrees/PHD’s from a degree mill – see previous thread over on C3 blog:
http://c3churchwatch.com/tag/gloria/
I’m just wondering who writes a thesis for the ‘PHD’ part?
Most of the successful ones end up being published as book, so which books were used to get which PHD’s, if any???
So how much money is appropriate for a minister or leader in the eys of churchwatch?
Hey brother/sister Starburst. Love the name.
S’pose any amount less than what the commenters say is appropriate.
The church watcher/s will generally agree with the opinions and attitudes so long as it adheres to the puritaniac narative.
By the way, did anyone watch the hillsong service this morning. I missed it as i am not a member, supporter nor t-shirt wearing supporter. Maybe if they did can you give me the gist of the sermon or send me a copy of the newsletter.
I am getting the hang of this bog and would like to ne a good Berean and…well you know the rest.
Like is you still have a ‘I heart my church’ bumper sticker.
Love and mercy.
Scrivener.
“So how much money is appropriate for a minister or leader in the ey[e]s of churchwatch?”
$300,000 per annum plus royalties and bonuses derived from merchandising the Gospel (speaking fees, book sales, etc). A jet-setting lifestyle that provides one with great opportunities for travelling in style at other people’s expense, or, at the very least, in a tax-effective manner. An extensive property portfolio is also a must-have, as is the ability to engage in a little nepotism: there’s nothing that does more to warm the cockles of a heretic’s heart than extending largesse to the members of his family, and one shouldn’t overlook the fact that the wife absolutely *must* be on the payroll to facilitate income-splitting for the consequent benefits vis-a-vis taxation. An opulent lifestyle is crucial in order to reinforce the message of “look at me – I’m blessed, so the prosperity obviously Gospel works”; hence the constant need for ostentatious displays of wealth involving the flaunting of such items as expensive motorbikes and flashy watches.
Of course, the foregoing is entirely hypothetical, since Brian Houston is neither “minister” nor “leader”, as he does not know God and is not known by Him. I’m so sorry to have to burst your bubble by informing you that Brian is not a star. Perhaps one day you’ll actually reach a point where you can discern such things for yourself; in the meantime, I would advise you to keep giving to hillsong just as much as you can afford, because we all know that Brian needs more money.
This is my opinion – I’m not claiming to speak on behalf of the blog masters, so:
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:10
So that’s easy @Starburst – as soon as you start to love money more than God, you’ve crossed the line… Nowhere does the scripture teach that money in and of itself is evil, but “money loving” produces evil, to the point of ‘many sorrows’.
Notice the result of “money loving”? When people covet (desire something that others have,) money, it causes them to ‘err from the faith’, as God and the Gospel are no longer the central themes…
So all kinds of false doctrines and practices can spring up and take root inside a “money loving” church, because the love of money has replaced the love of God.
