The heavily marketed, highly touted, and Scripture-denying “Together 2016” event was held on the National Mall in Washington, DC on Saturday, July 16. Thousands gathered on the mall and watched by live stream for the purported purpose to pray for Jesus to “reset” the country and their lives.
The stream of celebrity evangelical “leaders,” pastors and musicians across the stage was essentially a who’s who of heresy. For the discerning believer who may have tuned in, markedly absent from the frenzy was a sense of reverence for a Holy God to whom appeals were being made to “fix our problems.” Oh yeah, the real Gospel was conspicuously absent too.
Of course, the discerning believer will have recognized the real Jesus from the multitude of fictional ones being called upon from the stage’s center circle. The real Jesus would have not twisted Scripture to claim for America promises intended His chosen nation Israel. The real Jesus would not have bellowed out a repentance-free message of love, hope, and personal fulfillment. The real Jesus would not have jerked verses out of Scripture, encouraging listeners to name them and claim them for His, and their own, glory.
I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. Romans 16:17-18
Below, then, is a list of those eager celebrity participants in the Together 2016 event who are effectively standing before the world, as well as before the true church, and proclaiming their willingness to disregard Scripture, such as Paul’s command in Romans. These evangelical “leaders” have become, by their own participation in a false festival promoting man-made unity, the very ones about whom Paul has commanded, “Avoid them.”
Others not listed on the website’s official line-up participated as well, but none perhaps as noteworthy as the grand apostate of the Tiber, Pope Francis. Francis delivered a gospel-void invitation to unite together as a means of combatting what he called youthful “restlessness.”
“God does not leave anyone disillusioned. Jesus is waiting for you. He is the One who planted the seeds of restlessness in your heart.” Pope Francis
Sounding like a late night TV infomercial huckster, Francis offered these words of comfort for those who might be considering trying Jesus.
“Give it a try! You have nothing to lose! Try it. Then you can tell me.” Pope Francis
Promotion of Pelagian empowerment wasn’t merely limited to Francis the apostate. Others gave similar appeals for listeners to prompt God to save, to reset, and to act based on their decisions.
Dick Eastman, who heads a ministry called Every Home For Christ, offered the crowd truly heretical misrepresentation of regeneration. Citing “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, “ Eastman said, “that’s about 2/3rds of a tweet, and you’re saved!” Jesus apparently now saves, sans that whole “repent and believe” thing, by merely indicating your choice on Twitter.
Eastman went on to name and claim the nation, including every zip code, every street, and every house, for Jesus according to the Message Bible promises of Deuteronomy 26that were once incorrectly assigned to Israel.
The event was replete with appeals to a false Jesus, offered by the biggest names in evangelical Christendom, and thoroughly void of a presentation of the authentic Gospel of Jesus. It was a festival of apostasy. Thankfully, we have the names of those willing to forego obedience to Scripture. They should, indeed, be marked as “together” … united in the ecumenical apostasy they promote.
The event was scheduled to run from 9 am to 9 pm. God, however, had other plans. He apparently had enough of those prancing across the dais of deception and brought an early end to the apostasy.
By about 4 pm EST, authorities brought the rally to an early end due to the frequency of heat-related illnesses incurred by those in attendance. Over 400 people had to be treated, overwhelming the available EMT and medical services.
“Heat-related illnesses” … hmm. Sort of a divine warning of things to come, methinks, for those who don’t “Repent and Believe.”
And, if you already do repent and believe, you should mark these “leaders” as those eager to gather “together” for the cause of apostasy. “Avoid them.”

Haha. Good wording / description for him.
you need the love of God.
Discernment detractors – calling good evil
As Hillsong United were scheduled on at 4pm, it seems they missed out on their appearance due to the early finish (because of hundreds of heat-related illnesses).
I hope people, including Hillsong think about this; that God allowed these circumstances to put an end to the event – quite possibly to stop collective errors being said/preached.
It is sad that so many people believe a false gospel and false teachings. They don’t read their bibles (enough) and/or pray for God to show them the right way. I wish people would wake up and return to the true gospel and correct teachings. How it must sadden and anger God when people turn away from the truth.

I don’t know about God sending weather to stop false teaching. If so, He has let quite a few go straight through to the wicket keeper. I don’t think Hillstench’s heresy is worse than that of the SDA, JW, Mormon or church of Rome.
i agree with you 100% with what you said. pastors are scared of offending people losing people.
its all about the numbers these days, pastors will do anything to get people into their churches.
by telling the what they want to hear. gods going to bless them, gods going to prosper them.
Jesus never promised anyone a really good life.
“Jesus never promised anyone a really good life.”
Very well said.
1 Peter 1:6-7 “6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer various trials, 7 so that the authenticity of your faith — more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Preach the gospel, the real gospel. This anti hillsong campaign isn’t winning souls and obeying the great commission. If they’ve got it all wrong, you show them the light by doing the right thing.
Haven’t stopped. We often do gospel comparative work to teach what the difference is between the true and a false gospel.
It is worse in the sense that its easy for anyone even an unsaved person to tell that an ACDC concert is not of God, but Hillsong events fool a lot of Christians. The closer it is to Christianity, the more people it fools, the more dangerous it is.

Hot, cold or lukewarm. Id rather go to an accadacca gig that hillsong. At least I wouldn’t get puked out.
“So how do you discern between the holy spirit and the kundalini spirit or the hillsong spirit?”
sImple test: 1. compare the teachings of the person administering the ‘spirit’ with the Bible, and 2. see if their prophecies come to pass or are just pontificating crap.
if what they’re saying doesnt line up with the Bible and their so called ‘prophecies’ are made up garbage, the ‘spirit’ theyre administering is a “false” one.
I love this blog. You are playing a very important role in the modern day gospel. You are the Pharisees. ..the cool dudes who found flaws and passed judgements.
You define a Pharisee as a false teacher?
No Pharisees were not false teachers. They actually followed the scripture to the minutest details. “Oh!! look at him he eats and drinks …with the sinners…he works on the Sabbath….he claims divinity. ..oh the blasphemer … let’s crucify him.!!!!”
“No Pharisees were not false teachers.”
Jesus and His disciples knew the scriptures – not the Pharisees. Jesus condemned them for not knowing the scriptures. The disciples amazed the Pharisees with their profound knowledge of the scriptures. Jesus refuted the lies and false teachings of the Pharisees with the scriptures.
In other words, the Prophets, Christ and His Apostles were exposing false teachers, while Pharisees and their proselytes lied and murdered those who held to the scriptures.
“They actually followed the scripture to the minutest details.”
So to love Jesus, we should not keep the scriptures? How on earth can you be a disciple of Jesus Christ without believing and following his teachings? What you are suggesting is a new religion that pushes an anti-Christian practice.
If you don’t think the “Pharisees” were teachers, answer these questions:
How did the Pharisees become teachers of the Law?
Why were they the heads of synagogues?
How do you explain Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:2?
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you.”
Who’s false teachings and practices was Jesus refuting in Matthew 23?
Who’s teachings was Jesus refuting in his sermon on the mount – and who was he talking about when he used the word “false prophets”?
Do you know what the ‘Tradition of the Elders’ is in this passage?
“Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!” Matthew 15:1-2
“Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.
(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly,a holding to the tradition of the elders, and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.)” Mark 7:1-4
If you still think they were genuine disciples of YHWH after a bible study on their bizarre and dangerous teachings, then that is a reflection on your Pharisaism. We encourage all believers to be berean and diligent in rightly handling the Word of God. Jesus and His Apostles teach us to be diligent and to follow the scripture to the minutest details lest we be deceived by Pharisees who lead us astray.
That is why this site exists, to encourage Christian to start getting into the bible more so they can be discerning. The more discerning they become, the harder Pharisees like Brian Houston and Loue Engle have to try in their attempt to look like legitimate Christians.
If Christ and His Apostles encourage us to call and expel them out of the church – we have Christ’s power to do so. We are in agreement with his Word and bind anyone who preaches anything contrary to God’s Word and cast them out of the church in the hopes they repent and turn to Jesus to forgive them of their sins.
“They (the Pharisees) actually followed the scripture to the minutest details.”
No they didn’t. They cherrypicked & chose whichever O.T. verses backed up whatever they wanted to do so they could rob the people.
Just like Brian Houston does while robbing the Body of Christ.
And they twisted the O.T. verses while arguing with Jesus.
Just like Brian Houston does when he ‘teaches.’
So of anyone os a Pharisee, guess who it is….

Church watch, I think you are doing a good thing here, but I do have a question. What does your symbol mean? To me it looks like an eye. You know the eye of the Illuminati.
Thanks for commenting KIm. “Chi-Rho” – This symbol was used by the first Christians in the catacombs as a Christogram (monogram for Christ) and was later popularized by Constantine, the Roman Emperor who assembled the Council of Nicea where the Nicene Creed was adopted. The Chi (Χ) and Rho (Ρ) are the first two letters of the Greek word “ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ” = Christos (Christ).
Cheers, Team ChurchWatch.
