“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’
you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” John 4:10
Please note the first seven words from Jesus’ lips to the unbeliever:
“If you knew the gift of God…”
With an annual salary of around $300k a year, Brian Houston of Hillsong has been at it again putting up memes this Christmas season. With only two weeks away from Christmas, Brian Houston proudly put his name to a meme to demonstrate how amazingly insightful he is to Christianity and the rest of the world. He wanted to educate people on what the greatest gift God has given you.
BRIAN HOUSTON SAYS,

So there you have it. If Brian Houston “knew the gift of God” he would not produce that meme. If Brian Houston knew the gift of God, he would be a Christian. He would NOT be parading his unbelief in such brazen fashion if he was a legitimate Christian minister. However, because of his unbelief, it is easy to spot the goats and the sheep on his wall. These are those that endorsed his comment (most of them simply saying ‘amen’):
Only one sheep bleated against the goats and the wolf, protesting the stupidity of Brian Houston. They know the gift of God is Jesus:
“Are you joking? Jesus is the greatest gift god has given us!”
(BTW – You can expect that sheep to be blocked or booted by Brian Houston/Hillsong for daring to question their prophet.)
To “Christians” that continually stand and defend a man that has no clue what Christianity is – the joke is on you. Hillsong – stop defending and bullying people to embrace your idiocy in the name of “love”. If the Holy Spirit is truly in the hearts of believers at Hillsong, why are you applauding Brian Houston’s flat out idiotic lies? Why are you defending Brian Houston and not defending Jesus whom you claim to love? You are responsible for promoting liars and blasphemers in God’s name and then have the audacity to accuse Christians for being unloving. So before you apologists start defending the Hillsong leadership and the Hillsong faith, consider what the bible clearly teaches about God’s greatest gift to you.
GOD SAYS,
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God…” Ephesians 2:8
“For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…” Romans 3:22-24
“But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many…. For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:15-17
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Aren’t you being picky?
If “you” never had a life, you wouldn’t exist so Jesus would mean nothing to you.
You’re arguing about nothing.
“Aren’t you being picky?”
God himself is picky; for example, he picked the Apostle Paul, but he didn’t pick Brian Houston (Brian is self-appointed, which is why he has no conviction, and why he does not speak with any authority). It’s sad to see that God didn’t pick you, either.
You’re an argumentative nothing.
I think that Brian would have realised he’s made a huge mistake with this quote – omitting stating that Jesus as God’s greatest gift. I would hope so anyway.
However, the fact he’s forgotten to include Jesus in this way in the quote means that his thinking is on man, and trying to appeal to man over pleasing God and teaching biblically. This quote highlights the man-centredness of his mindset and preaching. He needs to stop caring about offending people and preach the Word fully and correctly.
