“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.
‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.
I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’” (Revelation 2:1-7; Emphasis ours)
“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
(2 Timothy 4:1-5; Emphasis ours)
As you may be aware, we are a team of anonymous Christians who diligently work to point out the wolves in sheep’s clothing that parade around as Pastors and Prophets so you will not be deceived by them. Not only do we point out heretics and cult leaders, but we also point our readers to resources of faithful Christians who properly teach the distinction between Law and Gospel, Sin and Grace, Repentance and the Forgiveness of Sins.
The Law condemns us of our sins, and the Gospel gives us hope in Christ that when we die we will not perish for eternity in the Lake of Fire like we deserve, but rather, live with God in the New Heavens and the New Earth.
It is this very truth that we cling to and trust in, and it’s this truth which drives us to our knees in repentance when we have sinned. Therefore, the following apology must be made as it is our duty as Christians to repent of our sins:
We were unloving in our replies to comments made by Rachel and Felicity and for this we are sorry.
Here is the conversation we had with Rachel below:
Rachel, we are sorry that this reply by us was unloving towards you. It is never okay to use ad hominem attacks towards another person when debating. There are no excuses for how the above message was written to you.
We do believe that you do not understand the blasphemous beast that is Hillsong. They preach a different jesus and a different gospel than the Jesus of Scripture, one that cannot save anyone because their god does not exist. Because we have not found Brian Houston or any Pastor within Hillsong’s teachings to line up with the Scriptures we must adhere to the commands that are given to us by God:
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8-9; Emphasis ours)
“For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.” (Titus 1:10-11 Emphasis ours)
“But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. ‘Purge the evil person from among you.’” (1 Corinthians 5:11-13; Emphasis ours)
Here are resources that we believe would be beneficial to help you understand why we’re calling Brian Houston a Heretic and a Cult Leader:
If, after you’ve read and listened to the links we’ve provided above and can prove using the Bible that Brian Houston rightly preaches Law and Gospel, Sin and Grace, Repentance and the Forgiveness of Sins then we will recant on calling Brian Houston a Heretic, Wolf in Sheep’s clothing, and Cult Leader and call him a brother in Christ. Until that can be proven, we must continue to obey God’s Word by calling out and silencing the evil persons from among us.
Here are the conversations we had with Felicity below:
Again, how we replied to you, Felicity, was unloving in the above comments and we are sorry for attacking you as a person rather than only attacking your beliefs.
We would encourage you to do the same research as Rachel and to read/listen to the above resources we’ve provided. If you can prove that Brian Houston and Hillsong preaches God’s Word rightly and is faithful, then we will cease calling Brian Houston a Heretic, Wolf in Sheep’s clothing, and Cult Leader and will instead call him a brother in Christ.
