Cowboy Damage Control: Hillsong leaders had no idea about Naked Cowboy’s appearance?

Brian Houston has finally commented on the Naked Cowboy (NC) that made an appearance at their Hillsong US Color Conference. Did Mr Houston apologise or repent of this stunt?

Not at all.

WATCH THE CAREFUL WORDING & OMISSIONS

Instead Brian Houston decided to protect the Hillsong brand, his Hillsong leader’s reputations and avoid legal proceedings by the Naked Cowboy (who took offense that Hillsong used his character without his permission). His method?

Brian Houston’s main method is to use very careful wording to imply what he wants you to think. You also need to take note of what he doesn’t say.

Lies COT Diagram

For example,  Brian states, “Carl and Laura Lentz were also not part of the decision.” What Brian doesn’t say is what they knew about it and what part they played. And who did make that decision?

Houston omitted that other pastors were onstage. Joel Houston and Ben Houston, .. weren’t mentioned in this statement. Why?

Who did know about this and to what extent? Did Brian? (He never said he didn’t.)

Joel Houston was on the production team as a creative director for Hillsong’s Mr Sparkle dancing to the “To Move It” debacle. So what was Joel’s role, especially as he is a Hillsong NY pastor?

proof_Hillsong-SparkleWithJoelHouston_02-06-2016

Even Steven Kozar commented on Brian’s response on the Hillsong website, observing what Houston omitted from his statement:

proof_Hillson-KozarRespondsToBriansResponse_02-06-2016

Surprised? Hillsong decided to delete this comment.

BRIAN HOUSTON’S OVERALL CLAIM

So that is what Brian Houston essentially did:

Feign ignorance on behalf of all the Hillsong leaders gathered.

No joke.

3ba38-1464561351038

Hillsong performers and pastors “taken back” at the ‘Naked Cowboy’ gate-crashing their performance…

Brian Houston implies that Hillsong leadership had no idea how the NC ended up in the production. Does Brian Houston want us to believe him?

Brian wants people to:

  1. Believe, “that some one thought it would be funny and sent [the NC] out there without thinking about the ramifications”.
  2. Note that those  “who perpetuate the story, do so mainly with the help of a video, no context, and a good dose of what the bible describes as hearsay and rumour.”
  3. Believe that this “silly decision… is unlikely to happen again.”

So let’s put it in context for Brian Houston.

  1. Hillsong’s women Color Conference UK put on a performance celebrating UK Culture, parading the popular sleazy pervert Austin Powers on the platform, causing the women to go crazy. The person dressing up as Austin Powers was Hillsong London’s Senior Pastor, Gary Clarke.
  2. This “silly decision” was then repeated at Hillsong US.
  3. Hillsong’s women’s Color Conference US put on a performance celebrating American Culture, putting the NC on the platform, causing the women to go crazy. The person dressing up as the NC was Hillsong New York’s Youth Pastor, Diego Simila.
  4. The “New York” song was playing when the iconic “New York” Naked Cowboy eventually rose to come to the front of the stage, nicely choreographed among other “New York” icons.

Brian Houston seems to think that the Hillsong NC was a cheeky prankster. This is not true.

The Hillsong NC was Hillsong NY’s Youth Pastor, Diego Simila. What Hillsong pastor in their right mind would put their ministry in jeapordy by pulling an outrageous stunt like this? A prank in front of Hillsong’s Senior, Pastor Bobbie Houston and “Apostle of Cool” Carl Lentz, if he didn’t it was OK?

Hillsong-Youth-Pastor-Diego-Simila

Does this mean Bobbie Houston and Gary Clarke had no idea that Austin Powers was going to make an appearance in their women’s conference at Hillsong London, too?

Hillsong Parading Their Fleshly Principalities and Powers
Video of Pastor Austin Powers performing at Goatsong

And do you think Bobbie Houston, Joel Houston, Ben Houston, Terry Crist and Carl Lentz and other performers look “taken aback” by the NC’s appearance in these videos? Why does Brian Houston imply that all these pastors had no idea that the NC Youth Pastor was waiting in the wings just to play a pastoral prank? At a major conference in front of thousands of women?

Family friendly Hillsong Includes the Dancing Naked Cowboy?
Bobbie Houston’s guilty conscience covers up Naked Cowboy

In the video linked below, Hillsong pastors Carl Lentz, Ben Houston, Joel Houston and Terry Crist come out together on stage halfway through the ‘item’. This means all of them knew it was going to happen before the NC went on stage.  If this was a prank, at any time, these senior pastors could have prevented the NC from coming on.

We will critique this statement further at a later date.

Have You Heard the one about the Naked Cowboy?

Brian Houston
1 June 2016

So how did someone come on stage imitating Times Square’s famous Naked Cowboy, (during a fun moment involving lots of other people), at the Colour Conference in NYC? It’s a good question, I’ve been trying to work that out myself.

I do know that Bobbie – my wife – who was convener of the conference was clearly unaware that this was going to happen and was taken aback by it. She was at the dress rehearsal and there was no sign of a naked cowboy lookalike there. Carl and Laura Lentz were also not part of the decision. I can only guess at this point, that some one thought it would be funny and sent him out there without thinking about the ramifications.

What I do know is that those who perpetuate the story, do so mainly with the help of a video, no context, and a good dose of what the bible describes as hearsay and rumour. He was wearing proper shorts, not underwear, and he had a flag draped over him.

What I also know is that talk of apostates etc., is nonsense. Some well-meaning person just made a silly decision. It is unlikely to happen again.

Brian Houston capitalizes off Jan Crouch’s death to promote his HillsongChannel?

Paul and Jan Crouch run, according to Holly Pivec, the NAR Organization ‘Trinity Broadcasting Network’ (TBN).*

Recently, Jan Crouch passed away, not to heaven – but to the eternal flame for her false and blasphemous TBN ministry. We’re not rejoicing over this – this is a tragedy.

But what makes this more of a tragedy is that other false teachers will be joining her in their attempt to try and convince people that heretics like Jan Crouch are now in heaven.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

One such false teacher is Brian Houston. He recently decided to publish this sycophantic tweet on Jan Crouch:

“Today Jan Crouch enters heaven as commences tomorrow. It’s only possible because of her legacy.”

Source: Brian Houston, Twitter, https://twitter.com/BrianCHouston/status/737637066918494208, Published 31/05/2016. (Accessed 31/05/2016.)

proof_FaceBook-HoustonSpirituallyAttractive_01-05-16

That’s very disturbing but at the same time, not surprising.

Christianity has claimed for centuries the eternal fate of false teachers – so we’re not going to shy away from saying that Jan Crouch may now be in hell for her unrepentant sin and apostate ministry?

Furthermore, it’s entirely inappropriate for Brian Houston to capitalize on the death of Jan Crouch to promote his own HillsongChannel. And it’s quite sycophantic to call on her so-called “influence” to suggest that his HillsongChannel is the result of “her legacy”.

We’ve seen Brian and Bobbie Houston act from this sycophantic framework before to further their own name and ministry. However, Brian’s stunt this time is very concerning on such a fundamental level and definitely uncalled for.

Brian Houston has continually shown he lacks compassion for pedophile victims, sexually and physically abused women and now even the dead and their grieving families.

Brian Houston Hillsong quote Go To Hell

Someone was not happy with Brian Houston capitalizing on Jan Crouch’s death to promote his HillsongChannel (warning – this comment may offend):

Way to use death to promote your stupid TV Channel. Good job Brian. Good job (edited).

And of course, it took someone in the secular world to clearly point out the obvious hypocrisy of Houston’s tweet.

Jan Crouch’s Death Evokes Tributes From Hillsong Church’s Brian Houston, Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton

Tributes are pouring in for Trinity Broadcasting Network co-founder Jan Crouch, who died at the age of 78 following a massive stroke last week, including from popular pastors and award-winning Christian music artists.

“Today Jan Crouch enters heaven as @HillsongChannel commences tomorrow. It’s only possible because of her legacy,” tweeted Brian Houston, senior pastor of the influential Hillsong Church that started in Australia but now as campuses around the world.

Meanwhile, Grammy Award-winning American gospel singer Donnie McClurkin tweeted, “My heart is broken in several different ways. MY dear FRIEND..JAN CROUCH has passed away. PRAY for the crouch family.”

Fellow Grammy winning singer-songwriter Israel Houghton tweeted, “My deepest condolences to the @TBN & Crouch family. I knew Momma Jan for 25 years. She was always kind to me.”

Meanwhile Pastor Ron Carpenter of Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville, South Carolina, wrote on Twitter, “Paul and Jan Crouch invited me into the TBN family 2009..that microphone changed my life forever. I’m saddened by her passing. #legacy”

Hispanic Evangelical leader the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez tweeted, “Our condolences to the entire @TBN family at the passing of Jan Crouch. Paul and Jan changed the world. Now it’s our turn to lift Jesus high.”

Crouch’s family announced her death early on Tuesday, with son Matthew writing:

“Laurie and I have just watched the transition of our precious Mother from this world to the next; watched her step into the presence of Jesus and into her heavenly reward.”

The family statement added: “Jan Crouch, known around the world as Momma Jan, has gone home.”

TBN had shared last week that Crouch was taken to the hospital after suffering a massive stroke in Florida, with the news amassing sympathy and well wishes from church leaders and other prominent Christian figures around the world.

Christian singer Carman Licciardello said on Facebook that he had been close to Crouch for 40 years, calling her “family.”

“We have won countless souls to Christ together through that network. She is the best friend you can ever have when your going through a crisis and feel like everyone has abandoned you. Example: when I went through 10 months of cancer treatment and sent out 600 letters to 600 churches I’ve ministered at, for support, and not one responded, it was Jan who paid my bills so I could focus on my fight with cancer,” Licciardello revealed.

Christian metal singer Michael Sweet added:

“So sad to hear about the passing of TBN Trinity Broadcasting Network co-founder, Jan Crouch. She was always extremely kind to me and always supported everything I did. I was a guest many times over the years and I am grateful for her generosity. God Bless You Jan! Our prayers and thoughts go out to the entire Crouch family.”

Others, including J.D. Bellamy, who serves under Pastor Paula White, noted the reach and size of her legacy:

“This morning we are sadden by the death of Mrs. Jan Crouch. You touched millions around the world! We are beyond sure that your legacy will forever live on!” Bellamy wrote.

Crouch’s husband and fellow TBN co-founder Paul Franklin Crouch died at aged 79 in November 2014.

If You’re Sexy and a Pastor, play the Cowboy?

WE CAN THANK HILLSONG BIBLE COLLEGE FOR HILLSONG’S NAKED COWBOY

We are hearing that people around the internet are not convinced that this footage was captured at Hillsong Conference. This Hillsong Conference was in the Theater at the Maddison Square Garden.

If you look at the original video footage in this article, you will see Hillsong pastors Bobbie Houston, Carl Lentz, Terry Crist and Ben Houston up on stage with the Naked Cowboy:

Family friendly Hillsong Includes the Dancing Naked Cowboy?

If you are still not convinced, in the image below, you will see Hillsong “Pastor” Ben Houston with the lone ranger.

SO WHO PLAYED THE NAKED COWBOY?

These were the “Christian” comments about the Naked Cowboy on Instagram:

If you didn’t pick up on the person’s name as these “Christian” women were swooning over the Naked Cowboy, his name (as seen in the above picture) is Diego Simila.

… And he is Hillsong’s NY Youth Pastor

Hillsong-Youth-Pastor-Diego-Simila

Hillsong Youth Pastor Diego Simila: Hillsong’s Naked Cowboy

Who is Diego Simila? He was a model living for a few weeks in New York. In that short amount of time, he was asked by Hillsong leadership to be the Youth Pastor of Hillsong New York City, way back in 2010. In other words, he was rushed into Hillsong leadership because of his body (that’s the sad truth – isn’t it Carl Lentz).

“Let me give you a bit of background of Diego. He was in California. He had a boy band… and actually he was about to make it big and God told him to go to Hillsong Sydney to Bible College.

He left it all to pursue God. It was a fork in the road. He knew if he were to take that route it would be selling out his soul in his case and so he went to Hillsong…

Left it all. God’s favour just guided him. Amazing how many relationships out of the gate just happened for him. And then he left there after graduation. Went back to California. Was involved in a local church there and was doing some modelling and he was about to blow it up in the modelling scene and God told him he needed to go to New York City.

He didn’t have a job. In fact they didn’t even know he was coming. He lived homeless there for about three weeks and he was just jumping from couch to couch. But he was faithful, and all of a sudden in a short, short time, he winds up being asked, being told to be the Youth Pastor of Hillsong New York City, started in 2010.

Today they are 14,000 people and if you know anything about New York City, planting a church there is crazy it isn’t like the mid-west…

We are noticing a trend here in how Hillsong identifies people for ministry. If God hasn’t called you to ministry in Hillsong yet, use more hair gel.

Diego Simila Hillsong calling

Christine Caine’s dodgy A21 leadership.

Leaders of the Hillsong cult have proven to be completely incapable of the very thing they teach most about in their resources, books and sermons: leadership.

First the Houstons were exposed over their incompetence with their handling of Leadership Ministries Inc. They were caught playing word games and acting dishonestly over their handling of their Leadership Ministries Inc.:

Brian and Bobbie Houston’s LMI “charity” scrutinized

Christine Caine travels extensively around the world advertising her leadership and activism through her A21 Campaign (A21C). Caine also attempts to guilt and recruit young people to her A21C – this is most notable when she is invited to speak at Louie Giglio’s Passion Conference.

Christine Caine exposed

Christine Caine – the woman with many faces.

However, Caine has also now been criticised over her poor leadership and handling of her A21 Campaign. Once again, her two facedness is in full display for all to see. This is the typical Matthew 23 hypocrisy we are all getting used to seeing from Hillsong leadership.

Is there such thing as a Christian leader in Hillsong?

The A21 Campaign Limited, charity review

This is a review, for donors, of the Australian charity The A21 Campaign Limited (A21). It is structured according to the charity’s entry on the ACNC[i] Register, and its purpose is to supply some information extra to what is there, information that may be helpful in your giving decision.

It is up to you to decide whether any or all of the information presented here is what you need in order to make that decision, and whether you need to seek any other information, either from the charity itself or from other sources.

Ministry response

Prior to publishing this review, I sent my observations to the charity and invited them to comment. They did not respond.

Organisation of this review

1. This review is organised according to the headings in the register entry. This is how to use this section of the review:

– For each heading in the register entry, first read the information under that heading.
– Then check if that heading is included below. (Headings for which there is no comment are not included.)

2. There is then a more detailed comment on the Financial Report.
3. Lastly, there is a section Membership of accountability organisations claimed.

Entity Subtype

– Although I am assured[ii] that A21 is a ‘Christian’ (Christ-centred) organisation, ‘Advancing religion’ is not one of the subtypes, and there’s nothing on the website, in the Financial Report, or in the Constitution to indicate that it is.

– For the US organisation its Christ-centred status is confirmed by A21’s membership of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)[iii] (see below).

ANNUAL REPORTING

– Basic financial information is shown in the AIS 2014. If you think that’s all you might need (or want[iv]) then you should note that, in the Financial Report,

– Employee expenses are considerably less than the $519K shown here, at $166K (Note 3), and
– you should move $10,056 from Other Income to All other revenue.

– The coverage of finances in this review is left until the financial report proper (below).

CHARITY’S DOCUMENTS

Financial Report

– This report can be opened either from here or from within AIS 2014 under Annual Reporting (above).
– The Financial Report was completed a little over four months from their year-end, and put on the ACNC Register a month later. This was still within the six month period normally allowed.
– The ACNC allows charities to put their Annual Report or similar on the Register. A21 has not taken advantage of this, nor is there one on their website or an invitation to request one.

Size of Charity

– 2013-14 ‘Revenue’ was $1.6 m, easily exceeding the $1 m threshold for the top size of charity.

Latest financial report – detail

Directors’ Report (page 1 of the Financial Report)

– ‘Principal activities’ is missing how these activities helped in achieving the organisation’s objectives.
– You should have also been told the organisation’s

– Short-term objectives
– Long-term objectives
– Strategy for achieving those objectives, and
–  How it measured its performance
–  If you are interested in the liability of members, it is in Note 13 instead of here.

An independent opinion on the financial statements : the Independent Auditor’s Report (page 5 of the Financial Report)

– The required reference to the ACNC Act is absent.
– The auditor, in accepting the engagement, has assessed the directors’ decision that A21 is not a ‘reporting entity’, and agreed with it. That is, they also think that A21 doesn’t have any users (either existing or prospective) who are dependent on a general purpose report (that is, a report prepared for those who are not in a position to require A21 to produce a report tailored to their needs).
– This is a ‘clean’ opinion. Read here and here to draw the right conclusions from this.

Where the directors put their name to the report: the ‘Directors’ declaration’ (page 7 of the Financial Report)

– For an organisation that has not only ‘Donate’ in its website main menu, but ‘Fundraising’, a selection that invites people to start a fundraising campaign for A21, and received $1.6 m in donations last year you may find it difficult to understand how the directors concluded that all these donors, both current and prospective, have the capacity to command the preparation of financial statements tailored to their needs.
– This decision meant that A21 could produce financial statements that did not need to comply with all the Australian Accounting Standards, and therefore produce statements that the Australian standard setters have deemed not suitable for those people who rely on A21’s financial statements as their major source of financial information.
– An example of the information that you might not get as a consequence is the the relationship that A21 has with the other A21 organisations around the world[ix].
– ‘The A21 Pty Limited’ is meant to be ‘The A21 Campaign Limited’, and ‘owners’ should be ‘members’.
– Because A21 is a charity, the reference should be to the ‘the ACNC Act’ rather than ‘the Corporations Act’.

What was earned, what was consumed during the year – the Statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income (page 8 of the Financial Report)

Incoming Resources

– This is not a correct description of what’s included in the calculation of comprehensive income.

Contributions $1.6 m

– We are not told why this revenue almost doubled.
– Or how much was received as a result of donations as opposed to fundraising.
– There is no accounting policy note for this item.

Activities for generating funds $13K (including Note 2)

– We know that A21 sells goods but there is no information – accounting policy or dollars in the Statement of Financial Position – about inventories.

Investment income $10K

– There is no accounting policy disclosed for investments.
– There is no explanation for why A21 is investing donor’s money.
– Why is this figure identical to that for interest income in the Statement of Cash Flows?

Resources Expended

Charitable Activities $1.0 m

– You can find a good explanation of these four activities on the website.
– This section uses a classification by function whereas the next section, ‘Supporting Services, classifies expenses by their nature.
– It is therefore not clear whether these four line items include a share of the ‘Fundraising’ and ‘General and administrative costs’ in the next section.
– The AIS 2014 shows that only $440K of this went overseas to achieve A21’s mission.
– This is only 27% of money received from donors.
– We are not told where the money was sent.

Supporting Services $448K

– The cost of the goods that A21 sold is not disclosed.

Fundraising expenses $133K

– There is no explanation of what is included in this item.

General and administrative costs $316K (including Note 3)

– Employee salaries and benefits $166K are the majority of this figure.

– This amount is, without explanation, $353K less than the amount disclosed for Employee expenses in the AIS 2014.
– In June 2015 A21 had six full-time, three part-time and one casual employee, numbers that also don’t fit with the $166K above.

– Intangibles exist yet there is no amortization expense.
– A21 is an international organisation and yet there are no travel and accommodation expenses.
– A21 is not typical in allowing the payment of directors’ fees (see the Constitution under Charity’s Documents. We are not told whether any were paid.

What’s left at the end of the year – the Statement of financial position (page 9 of the Financial Report)

Cash and cash equivalents $770K (including Note 4)

– No reason is given for holding such a large amount of savings.

Property, plant & equipment $16K (including Note 6)

– The sale of the company’s property is the reason for the large reduction from 2013.

 Intangibles $131K (including Note 7)

– Possible impairment not mentioned.

– Despite the website servicing all A21 organisations, it appears that the Australian company has borne all the costs of developing the website.

Trade & Other Payables $36K (including Note 8)

– There is no provision for long service leave.

How the net wealth has changed – the Statement of changes in accumulated funds(page 10 of the Financial Report)

– If you are trying to understand this statement, note that the $666,992 figure needs to go up one line, and the surplus for the year from the statement two pages back needs to be inserted next to (Deficit)/Surplus for the year’.

Essential information[x] to go with the figures: the Notes to and forming part of the Accounts(page 12 of the Financial Report)

1 Statement of significant accounting policies

Basis of Preparation

– It is the ACNC Act that governs the report, not the Corporations Act.
– Given that four of the five A21 directors are also four of the five directors of Equip and Empower, and that the two charities operate from the same office, it is legitimate to question whether one of these charities controls the other.

Accounting policies

(a) Revenue

This note doesn’t match the types of revenue A21 earned.

(k) Critical accounting estimates and judgement

– It is hard to believe that, despite the inherent imprecision of accounting, the directors did not make a single critical estimate or judgment.

(l) New accounting standards and interpretations

– This incorrectly combines two required disclosures:

– New and amended standards adopted, and
– Standards issued but not yet effective and not adopted early. There should be a list under this one.

Membership of accountability organisations claimed

– None claimed.
– It is not possible to check membership of Missions Interlink.
– The US A21 is, however, a member of the ECFA.

[ii] From a Facebook respondent (after I couldn’t get a response from either of the email addresses on the ACNC Register). I didn’t ask though the extent to which they share the Gospel by word.

[iii] The ECFA’s Standard 1 says that

Every organization shall subscribe to a written statement of faith clearly affirming a commitment to the evangelical Christian faith, or shall otherwise demonstrate such commitment, and shall operate in accordance with biblical truths and practices.

There is no statement of faith on the US website. Note that, even if there were, it does not need to say anything about spreading the Gospel by word.

[iv] Those who wrote the rules for the financial statements say that, as a user, you ‘are assumed to have a reasonable knowledge of business and economic activities and accounting and a willingness to study the information with reasonable diligence’ [Framework for the Preparation and Presentation of Financial Statements,www.aasb.gov.au, paragraph 25].

[v] This is how the ACNC explains ‘operating locations’ in their application guide: ‘You need to give details about where in Australia your organisation conducts (or plans to conduct) its activities.’

[vi] Covington, however, is still a ‘responsible person’ for Equip and Empower Ministries Limited, an Australian charity whose other directors are also directors of A21, and a director of the US organisation.

[vii] Because of the possibility of two (or more) directors having the same name on the register of responsible persons, it is not possible to be definitive about the number of directorships held.

[viii] Caine and Dimauro are also trustees for the UK organisation, and directors of the US corporation, and Lowery-Biggers a director of the US organisation.

[ix] The Directors’ Report has an acknowledgement of the closeness of the relationship between, at least, the Australian and US organisations:

The surplus for the financial year was $221,603 compared to a deficit of $142,685 in the previous year, with the increase predominantly due to a significant US donor deciding to donate through their Australian arm to The A21 Campaign in Australia instead of The A21 Campaign in the USA.

[x] Accounting Standard AASB 101 provides that ‘The Notes shall:

present information about the basis of preparation of the financial statements and the specific accounting policies used in accordance with paragraphs 117-124;

If you have a problem with Hillsong doing whatever they want in the name of Jesus, don’t forget Hillsong Senior Pastor, Brian Houston thinks this of you:

“I think you are going to find [God] will deal with you.
Big shocks ahead when judgmental people face their saviour.
He only ever spoke harshly to the religious.” [Source]

Here is a video of Hillsong London “Pastor” Gary Clarke entertaining all the women at Hillsong London’s Colour Conference as Austin Powers.

Hillsong Channel – all heretics, no Christianity

HE WARNING SIGNS WERE THERE: WORSHIPING CELEBRITY CHRISTIANS

Since February 2015, we have believed that Hillsong would their very own TV Channel when an article titled “Justin ‘Believer’ Bieber to perform… from the pulpithit the internet. The article implies that they got this information from a Hillsong insider who knew Justin Beiber. Hillsong’s reaction to the newspapers claims was FAST – which is odd, (if this information was false).

After sorting through Brian Houston and Hillsong’s PR (Lyall Mercer’s) online word games and doing a bit of our own research, we concluded that Hillsong were deliberately targeting US celebrities and Christian celebrities to start their own TV channel.

We have even seen footage of Justin Bieber practicing (not worshiping) with Joel Houston floating around the internet. And Selena Gomez performing her ‘Jesus is my boyfriend’ worship song ‘Nobody ‘at Hillsong only confirmed this Hillsong Channel concept:

If Hillsong leaders are quite prepared to use people and ‘destroy’ them (even if they are close friends or made the Hillsong music label), then we need to be even more concerned that Hillsong will use these tactics on people like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

ON THAT NOTE…

With Hillsong’s appalling track record of:

  1. scripture twisting;
  2. preaching false gospels;
  3. peddling unending heresies;
  4. publishing countless lies in their media statements;
  5. inviting heretics to speak at their conference;
  6. criminal activity (Frank Houston’s paedophilia);
  7. cover-up (Brian Houston covering up his father’s crimes and refusing to deal with another paedophile cover-up in a friends church, lying to the press, misleading his church and misleading a Royal Commission);
  8. scandals (Youth Alive pastor Pat Mesiti caught sleeping with prostitutes and having drinking issues and Mike Guglimucci’s porn addiction and fake healing scam just to name a few);
  9. abusive behaviour towards women (Brian Houston’s continual sexist, deceitful or abusive behaviour towards women e.g. Barbara Taylor, Tanya Levin, Emma Furness and others online);
  10. deliberately bullying and destroying people (Geoff Bullock, Steve West, Tanya Levin, etc);
  11. uniting other religions (Roman Catholicism and Islam) under Jesus’s name;
  12. a culture of unrepentance,

Hillsong is proud to announce that they are about to release a new TV Channel:

“Introducing the Hillsong Channel, broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Get a front row seat and a backstage pass to all that’s happening at Hillsong around the globe. For all you discerning Christians out there, do you notice what’s missing?

That’s right.

Jesus.

(They’ll start slapping his name on everything soon enough.)

Isn’t it interesting that it’s all about Hillsong and not our Savior? Because their emphasis is on themselves and not the Way, the Truth and Life, is it any coincidence that their adverts for their channel are already spreading lies?

HAS HILLSONG EVER PROMOTED THE “WORLD’S GREATEST TEACHERS”?

They could have at least said “popular teachers”. But they are no way the “world’s greatest teachers”.

They are blatantly promoting heretics who have been publicly exposed (some over the decades) as COP Narcissists,  NARapostolic heretics, WOF heretics, PDL popes, HAW prosperity pimping heretics, New Agers, communitarians, pantheists and trinity deniers. Each one has been publicly exposed for unashamedly perverting the word of God to preach their own man-made ideas.

Hillsong Channel Heretics

Hillsong’s heretical line-up: John C Maxwell, Steven Furtick, T.D. Jakes, Louie Giglio, Joseph Prince, Pastrix Joyce Meyer, Pastrix Christine Caine,  Craig Groeschel, Judah Smith, John Bevere, Jentezin Franklin and Carl Lentz.

Linked below is their promo video. You will notice that they have Driscoll make an appearance in this as well which is a slap in the face for the church and the world considering Brian Houston lied internationally about the fact that Driscoll was not going to turn up to the Hillsong Conference 2014.

OUR THOUGHTS

While we made some serious claims about Hillsong at the beginning, take a step back and see the bigger picture on what this movement is founded on: lawlessness and unbelief.

Brian Houston Hillsong quote itching relevance

Hillsong’s founder Frank Houston KNEW he was biblically disqualified to take the office of pastor. That did not stop him from using the name of Jesus to make an empire for his son Brian Houston. Nevertheless, Brian Houston imitated his father which is why he wanted to become a pastor – NOT because he was passionate about the gospel to see people saved (in fact, Brian Houston doesn’t even know the gospel).

From the very beginning, Frank Houston did not have faith in God and His Word – instead Frank made a name for himself.

Brian Houston is no different. Just like his father, he built his church on popularity – not on the Word of God. This is why it is hard to find Hillsong Apologists biblically defend their movement and what its purpose is. They are biblically illiterate. And in similar fashion to Brian Houston, resulting in twisting Jesus’ words to defend their lawless leaders and their cult-like behaviours (eg. “Judge not lest ye be judged; he who hasn’t sinned cast the first stone; for all have sinned”, etc).

Furthermore, Brian Houston is not biblically qualified to preach at all. Not only did he neglect proper biblical study to prove he was a pastor, he continually flunks every sermon he preaches with no concept of the gospel or how to read the bible. What does this mean?

Brian Houston Allah Comment Hillsong

According to Jesus, He Himself claims Brian Houston, like other false teachers, is a thief that has come to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) and is to be regarded as a criminal/lawless one/wicked one for the false prophet that he is (Matt 7). Jesus gives us specific instructions to watch out for these deceivers (Matt 25).

Feel free to prove us wrong – pick up your bible and test what Brian Houston says in the name of God to the Word of God. If you aren’t discerning enough, then look at the fruit of this man:

It was Brian Houston who covered up his father’s crimes and used their conferences and church services to mislead the world about Frank Houston’s pedophilia. (See the Royal Commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse – Case 18.)

It was Brian Houston who uses his Hillsong conferences to import and export heresies around the world.

Brian Houston quote - cover up Royal Commission Hillsong

In our opinion, if you want to promote lawlessness and criminal activity in your country, feel free to promote this lawless, narcissistic, self-pleasing, ear-tickling network to your nation. You’re not going to get law and gospel rightly preached.

Brian Houston Hillsong quote itching relevance2

Instead, you have a cult, disguised as a “Christian charity” organisation, that’s skilled at covering up crimes just to make their Hillsong brand look good.

That’s what was already compromised before the Hillsong Empire even started: It’s not about Jesus – it’s about unbelief, the praises of men: Hillsong:

“… for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.” John 12:13

If they’ve gotten away with deceiving people at this magnitude, what makes you think they are not going to deceive you too?

To end, we suggest readers watch Walter Martin’s prophetic warning of the church to stand and address these cults before it is too late:

Hillsong Embodies the Spirit of Voodoo at 2016 Easter Special.

It is students and volunteers that put on these productions. We know for a fact that drama students have difficulty taking on such roles as Judas or dark characters in Easter specials.

We can’t even begin to imagine the pressure students would have felt taking on these roles as voodooistic demon-like fiends dancing so blasphemously before their saviour’s cross.

At least this scene confirms that Hillsong still believe the NAR gospel which includes Jesus dying as a ransom for Satan, thus causing the demons to celebrate.

Pulpit & Pen writes,

Hillsong Embodies the Spirit of Voodoo at 2016 Easter Special

hillsong_voodoo

With what seems to be a never ending stream of apostasy coming out of this organization, Hillsong just doesn’t appear to know when enough is enough. Anyone who names the name of Christ, yet doesn’t know that this is disgusting to God, needs a biblical reality check. Revelation 3 speaks of the lukewarm church, who’s given to entertainment and self-comfort. God finds this church disgusting, and will literally vomit them from his presence (Revelation 3:16).

First it was the Sleazy Silent Night performance at Christmas. Then it was the sex pervert, Austin Powers, being promoted at a women’s conference. Most recently was the Dancing Naked Cowboy appearance at a Hillsong NY location….and now we’re showing you this video of Hillsong London putting on a re-enactment of a voodoo ritual. This is pure witchcraft.

Family Friendly Hillsong Includes The Dancing Naked Cowboy?

Romans 12:1-2 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Did you know that Hillsong is not only planning to release their own Hillsong movie, they are also planning to produce a new Hillsong Channel?

Honestly, is this the best face Christianity has the offer to the world? Is their message what we want to promote?

Recently, Hillsong decided to have their Hillsong London’s Senior Pastor Gary Clarke dress up and dance as Austin Powers for their UK Women’s conference…

IF YOU’RE MARRIED AND YOU KNOW IT – WARN YOUR WIFE

Now it has emerged that Hillsong recently had the ‘NY Naked Cowboy’ up on stage for their “Christian” Conference in the United States of America.

If you have a problem with this, according to Hillsong, you’re going to Hell.

Hillsong Parading Their Fleshly Principalities and Powers

Bobbie Houston posted the following on Instagram,

So Austin Powers made an appearance at Hillsong UK’s Colour Conference. You think that’s bad? Do you know who was dressed as Austin Powers?

Hillsong decided to advertise the popular pervert on Instagram. Below, Hillsong tagged those who were on stage at all-girls Colour Conference.

The issue is not just that Austin Powers took the stage. The greater issue here is this:

Senior Pastor of Hillsong UK, Gary Clarke, thought it was appropriate to dress up as a popular perverton stage IN CHURCH in front of thousands of women of all ages in a woman’s conference.

How is that not creepy?

What are Hillsong leaders thinking? (Then again, Hillsong are known to promote a culture that promotes perverts like Brian Houston’s father.)

Finally Gary – this is for you:

The qustion is now, will ‘Selah Baby Selah’ continue parading her ‘Yeah Baby Yeah’ at her women’s conference around the world?

The Sisterhood: The Real Heroes? Bobbie, No! Just No!

Hate to disappoint you, Bobbie but the hero of the bible is Christ and Christ alone.

Are we wrong when we say that Hillsong/Sisterhood followers represent themselves as the center of the (biblical) universe and that all of its redemptive history revolves around them? #selfabsorbedmuch?

Isaiah 48:11 “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another.”

The scriptures say,

“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later; but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house—whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.” Hebrews 3:1
