Hillsong informed Chris Rosebrough last year that Carl Lentz was counselling the #BroadwayFiances, Reed Kelly and Josh Canfield.

“Now when I covered the story earlier last week, I made it clear that I had heard through channels that Carl Lentz had said that they had addressed this and that the pastors of Hillsong were “privately counseling” the couple.” [Source]

Clearly Hillsong think they have done a “fantabulous” job with their private counselling sessions (whatever that means). And it’s great to know that Hillsong senior pastor Brian Houston claims to be a traditional church and does not accept same-sex marriage…

Unless he’s lying again.

Now the #BroadwayFiances have some news to share with the world:

Josh Canfield announces,

Wanted to share this beautiful moment. I was so surprised because I wasn’t expecting a ring until our wedding. #wedding2016 #broadwayfiances#survivorlove #tiffanyandco #gaynyc#loveislove #comitted @thereedkelly

Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith recently interviewed Kerri Ferguson on his radio program. If you are not familiar with who Kerri Ferguson is we encourage viewers to read what we have covered on the C3 Penrith scandal so far:

C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 1
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 2 – The cover-up Scandal that Pringle refused to deal with
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 3 – Sex, Money, Power
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 4 – C3 regards pastors gambling worse than pastors defending a pedophile
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 5 – Phil Pringle’s leadership: an unresolved mess
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 6 – C3 prophetically manipulating the abused into silence
C3 Parramatta Scandal Part 7 – Letter exposing Pringle covering up paedophilia refusing to help victim

This is footage we have had for a number of years, exposing the cover up of pedophilia in the Australian Christian City Church movement. To this day, NONE of the “pastors” Kerri Ferguson went to for help have EVER bothered checking up on her or apologized for how they refused to help her in her time of need. These “pastors” are Phil Pringle, Brian Houston, Ian Treacy, and Gary Dench.

In Australia, some people consider paedophilia to be worse than murder. Don’t forget these “Pastors” faces that allowed these crimes to continue in the name of “Jesus.”

If they can get away with covering up paedophilia… then nothing can stop them. These men are before the Royal Commission. Yet Brian Houston and Phil Pringle are influencing our political leaders.

Carl Lentz portrays himself as a Christian pastor. However, people are seeing straight through his sheep skin and are now looking at a man who clearly rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ in regards to homosexuality.

Earlier this year, Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith helped break the story about the Broadway couple getting engaged towards the beginning of this year (2015). This gay couple were involved in leadership, leading Hillsong bible studies, one also voluntarily leading a Hillsong music choir.

Rosebrough stated on his program,

“Now when I covered the story earlier last week, I made it clear that I had heard through channels that Carl Lentz had said that they had addressed this and that the pastors of Hillsong were “privately counseling” the couple.” [Source]

Well this is what the result of Hillsong counseling looks like.

So grateful to have @joshdcanfield here by my side this Sunday @HillsongLA! #BroadwayFiances #BigSmiles #Hillsong

A post shared by Reed Kelly (@thereedkelly) on Oct 18, 2015 at 6:37pm PDT

The results of this Broadway “counseling” resembles how effective Carl Lentz’ “counseling” has been towards Justin Beiber. Clearly the gospel of repentance and the forgiveness of sins is failing to exist in Hillsong. Carl Lentz needs to put aside his barbie doll clothes, repent of his wickedness and start demonstrating he’s really a “Christian” he claims to be.

His refusal to take Christianity seriously as a “man of God” proves that his sheep skin is wearing thin over his lupine fur.

Reed Kelly and Josh Canfield have made it clear they believe Hillsong approves of their homosexual lifestyle. Why else would Hillsong be tagged in their pictures?”

What is also interesting with these Instagram snapshots is their @HillsongLA!  #hillsongLA tags. It appears they have been moved from Carl Lentz’ church, which means he no longer has to deal with them. This echoes Frank Houston’s case where Brian Houston hid his father in another church until the controversies surrounding his pedophilia died down.

We have been emailed information about a certain event planned to take place at Hillsong Conference 2015.

Print, Promote & Protest

Print, Promote & Protest

We would like to make it clear:

Mark Driscoll does NOT represent Fundamentalist Christianity but rather that of a cult leader. Although it appeared he began as a “fundamental Christian”, it was fundamental Christianity sounding the alarm of Mark Driscoll’s Emergent/Liberal progression. Not only does he still dabble in their liberal “tribal” notions and obfuscation games, Driscoll is firmly planted in the Purpose-Driven movement and had no problem espousing their vision casting and leadership-centered doctrines.

Mark Driscoll has run from discipline and now associates himself with Prosperity and Word of Faith churches such as Robert Morris’ Gateway Church, Brian Houston’s Hillsong and Joseph Prince’s New Creation Church. In fact, Mark Driscoll is now being discipled by the Word of Faith proponent Robert Morris of Gateway Church.

Even though Driscoll has marketed himself as fundamentally conservative, other conservative Christian leaders have stated, “It’s over. Marks [sic] should resign. Nobody should go to his church. He’s unqualified for ministry“.

We ask, is he switching camps to escape responsibility, accountability and discipline for his actions? Should we be surprised that Brian Houston has no problem with the ethical integrity of this man, by asking him to speak at Hillsong? This issue is not Fundamentalism – we are dealing with cult leaders abusing their positions and thus getting away with abusing people.

We hope Christians from all denominations speak out against the cult-like behaviour of Mark Driscoll and its apparent acceptance by Brian Houston.

Information about the Protest:

Press release:  Planned Protest against Hillsong Conference guest speaker Mark Driscoll at Hillsong’s Waterloo Campus in Sydney, 9:15 AM on Sunday May 31st

(for questions please contact Benjamin Ady on 0400048195 or peopleagainstfundamentalism@gmail.com)

People Against Fundamentalism are calling for a protest against Sydney’s Hillsong church’s invitation to former mega-church pastor Mark Driscoll, often accused of being a misogynist and a bully, to speak at their Sydney conference this winter. An online petition against Driscoll’s presence at Hillsong’s conference has gathered nearly 1,000 signatures (1)

People Against Fundamentalism have watched Mark Driscoll ongoingly hurt many people, especially women, in  Seattle, with his misogyny, bullying, and hardline complementarian teaching.

Last year Mars Hill, the 14,000 member megachurch Driscoll founded and led in Seattle, went down in flames because of his bad behaviour (2). The former church is currently facing a lawsuit for racketeering alleging misuse of funds designated for church planting in Ethiopia and India, including the use of those same funds to pay an agency US$210,000 to game the New York Times bestseller list to get Driscoll’s latest book, Real Marriage, on top (3, 4)

Brian Houston, Hillsong’s senior pastor, is himself potentially under investigation and facing legal repercussions for failing to report his own father and previous Hillsong pastor Frank Houston’s sexual abuse of minors. (5) Jim Henderson, one of the leaders of the protest that brought down Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church last year, and author of the book “Question Mark” about Driscoll and bullying in the church, said “Given Houston’s precarious position with the Royal Commission it seems a risk not worth taking to bring someone else on stage who is similarly under investigation for racketeering charges- What if some of the protesters begin linking the two of them together and accuse Brian of either attempting to divert attention away from his own legal allegations by focusing on Driscoll’s or of processing his own guilt in public using Driscoll as a surrogate”

Rachel Held Evans, a popular Christian blogger and author, says that Driscoll has an “alarming preoccupation with sex and masculinity”, and characterised his most recent book, “Real Marriage” as promoting the idea that “real marriage is to be based on a hierarchical pattern of submission” and as suggesting that it is “sinful” for a wife to withhold sex from her husband. (6)

Paul Tripp, executive director of the Centre for Pastoral Life and Care, and former board member at Mars Hill  said of  the culture created at by Mark at Mars Hill “This is without a doubt, the most abusive, coercive ministry culture I’ve ever been involved with.” (7)

Throughout his pastoral career at Mars Hill Church in Seattle Driscoll consistently generated controversy by speaking of women and the feminine with near contempt, referring to the church as “chickified”, saying the church needs dudes, saying dudes are and must be the leaders and denigrating “chicks” as being of no consequence. (8) Mark has ongoingly embraced and taught complementarianism, the doctrine that God gave men and women different roles, with men as the leaders and women as the followers. As such, women were precluded from the ranks of leadership at Mars Hill.

In 2011, Driscoll posted this status update to his facebook page “So, what story do you have about the most effeminate anatomically male worship leader you’ve ever personally witnessed?” (9)

Mark Driscoll has bragged about his bullying and casting aside of anyone who disagreed with him “There is a pile of dead bodies behind the Mars Hill bus, and by God’s grace it will be a mountain by the time we’re done. You either get on the bus or get run over by the bus.” (10)

The worldwide church-planting network (over 500 churches) which Mark Driscoll founded, Acts 29, kicked him AND his church Mars Hill out of their network last year, citing “ungodly and disqualifying behaviour”. They asked Mark to step down from ministry for an extended period of time and seek help. (11)

Mark has been accused by many of the pastors/elders of his own church of

  • Lack of self control

  • Verbally assaulting people

  • Slander

  • Creating a culture of fear

  • Being verbally abusive

  • Being arrogant (12)

The board of Elders who investigated these charges found that Mark Driscoll had a pattern of “persistent sin”, and they intended to rebuke him and ask him to enter a restoration process that would eventually lead to his restoration to leadership. The church’s elders were “deeply grieved” when Driscoll surprised them by resigning, thereby circumventing that process. This was followed very quickly by the dissolution of the megachurch he started. (13, 14)

Hillsong–please: don’t give this misogynistic, abusive, ex pastor a platform. Recently, a mere 4 months after the events culminating in his resignation and the dissolution of Mars Hill, Mark Driscoll has relaunched his ministry, still calling himself a “pastor”, and bragging that he’s speaking at Hillsong conference in Sydney this year. We don’t need or want his abusive version of Christianity in Australia.

From the Museum of Idolatry,

Are You Ready For The Word?

Founding pastor Brian Houston of Hillsong Church asked his Hillsong Church London, “Are you ready for the Word?” This was the response to Brian Houston’s question:

Did you know that Galatians 5:1 means Christ has set us free to “move it, move it”? Here are some of the lyrics to the above song:

“We don’t party hardly, we just party hard
And not because we’re bored
We do it cos we’re born again”

This idolatry piece get’s even weirder at 5:30.

The Brian that stole Christmas

Brian Houston, Chris Rosebrough, Christmas, grinch, Hillsong, houston, phil johnson, pulpit grinch

INTRODUCTION

What we have exposed again and again is that Brian Houston will happily preach any other gospel except the Christian gospel. Below is Brian Houston’s so-called “Christmas message” for 2014. While most ministers use this opportunity to actually preach a Christian message about the gospel, Brian Houston will preach his opinion on what he believes the gospel of Jesus is about.

You are not going to hear Christianity. You are not going to hear the gospel. You are not going to hear about the Christian Jesus. You will not hear what Jesus accomplished here on earth. You are going to hear a spineless, social/political message by Brian Houston that only expands the popularity of his secular franchise. This is the message of a coward and a thief who has bent the knee to a secular Caesar and not to Jesus Christ. Christians should feel robbed by this pulpit grinch, stealing the Christian gospel and replacing it with a message you would expect from a beauty pageant winner.

There are a few points in the below sermon that should cause Christians to think twice about Brian Houston’s “pastoral” credibility.

It is clear that Brian Houston is deceiving his followers in to believing that:

1. Luke 2:14 is the “simple” gospel of Jesus, when in fact it is the song of the angels.
2. His own opinion is greater that what the bible plainly teaches.

We shall look at these claims more closely.

ANGELS JESUS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH?

Houston made the following liberal (and homosexually inclusive) claim,

“In a world where status, background, sexuality, political persuasion or what side of the tracks you are from can cause so much conflict and strife, Jesus came with a very simple message: one of peace on earth and a good will to all men.” 11:57

What do the gospels say Jesus’ “simple message” is?

“I must preach the good news [gospel] of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” Luke 4:43

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John giving us general examples of what Jesus’ “good news” was about:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matt 4:17

Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15

Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ Luke 10:9

Is this gospel of Jesus inclusive as Brian Houston claims? Jesus declared to the Jews,

“… for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24

Jesus’ message is simple and highly exclusive while Brian Houston deliberately deceived people into thinking this “inclusive Jesus” message was the same as the angels song. It isn’t. In fact, Jesus says something that opposes Brian Houston’s beauty pageant gospel:

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Matthew 10:34

This was no mistake. This was a deliberate attack on the Christian gospel so Brian Houston could ride on current popularity and political trends to be noticed by the world. It is not right for Brian Houston to lie so blatantly in the name of Jesus.

AN OPINION MORE WORTHY THAN WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

At 9:16, Brian Houston states,

“We can ease so easily exclude. We can take the things of God and try to make them small which was never, (I believe), the heart of the gospel that was born that day.

The message of Jesus Christ, our Lord our Saviour- never ever was it determined to shrink or make small. Interestingly when it talks about goodwill to men- other translations, it says, “Men whom God favours”. Or in the Revised Standard Version it describes it as, “Men with whom He is pleased”. So you could easily still get the idea this is for some men. This is for some people. But I believe the gospel is for all people.”

While it is true the gospel is to be preached to “all people”, not all people will receive this exclusive message from an exclusive Jesus. Nevertheless, did you observe the deception Houston pulled in the above quote?

Brian Houston concluded from reading two different biblical translations on Luke 2:14 that, “you could easily still get the idea this is for some men. This is for some people”. But that is not good enough for Brian Houston.

Instead of accepting what the bible plainly says, Houston elevated his own opinion above God’s Word. Watch him do it again:

Or in the Revised Standard Version it describes it as, “Men with whom He is pleased”. So you could easily still get the idea this is for some men. This is for some people. But I believe the gospel is for all people.“

Nope. The bible does actually say the angels sing “Men whom God favours” or “Men with whom He is pleased”. It does not teach “Peace and good will on earth to all people”. That is a lie made up by Brian Houston. Members of Hillsong should be ashamed of this utter embarrassment of a gospel message for Christmas 2014.

PULPIT GRINCH EXPOSED

This gospel presentation was so bad, even Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith sniffed Brian Houston’s liberal agenda:

Brian Houston Hillsong theo-jelly-cal

“It is better to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt, yes or no, Brian Houston?”

It is not uncommon to hear Brian Houston, his leadership, and Hillsong’s adoring fans telling people, “judge not lest you be judged”, and “if you are without sin, cast the first stone”. And Hillsong would say that their movement never “demonizes” Christians for questioning the powers that be. At least up until now….

Brian Houston recently tweeted the following,

Let’s see how Brian Houston went.

Not only that, our most recent articles looked at how far removed Hillsong is from the orthodox Christian faith. The first article below is a report on how Hillsong wrote the song ‘This I believe’. The second article is a testimony of someone’s experience at Hillsong explaning how they discovered their rich historical Christian faith once they left the Hillsong bubble.

Mega-fail: Mega-church hiding under mega-rock

“I was a Christless, creedless, and clueless Christian in Hillsong”: A testimony of God’s grace.

With all this in mind, we can begin to understand where Brian Houston is speaking from.

 THE ‘DEMONIZING’ INTENSIFIES:

Below, Brian Houston tweeted lyrics from his church’s latest song, “This I Believe”.

proof_01Twitter-CreedyBrian_17-09-2014

A commenter, Matt Rollings responded to Brian Houston’s tweet.

@BrianCHouston Words matter. You do know modalists affirm the same, right? @piratechristian

Source: Matt Rollings, @Matt_Rollings, Twitter, https://twitter.com/matt_rollings/status/512196877391917056, 4:10 AM – 17 Sep 2014. (Accessed 20/09/2014.)

Matt Rollings summed up our thoughts exactly on the issue of this song. Furthermore, Rollings bought Pastor Christ Rosebrough from Kongsvinger Lutheran Church into the discussion, also an apologist for his radio show Fighting for the Faith.

So what was Houston’s response to Matt Rollings?

proof_07BrianUsesADictionary_19-09-2014

Rollings obviously replied to Brian Houston. And Brian Houston responded with this:

proof_03bTwitter-BriansWords_19-09-2014

If you aren’t laughing now at least you should be raising your eyebrows with this comment. Brian, yes, you can find the word ‘modalism’ in both the Oxford Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary. And you most definitely find the definition of modalism in Christian encyclopedias or systematic theology books.

Obviously ‘the great white shark’ Houston felt out of his league and started chomping and thrashing around on Twitter.

proof_03Twitter-BrianInsultsMatt_17-09-2014

It is important to notice the words he used around “pharisaical”. Pride? Well, obviously. But intellectual? Being intellectual makes you a Pharisee? Weren’t the Pharisees false teachers who loved to parade a form of godliness (in a similar way before Brian Houston removed all his shocking comments from this Twitter conversation)?

By the way Brian, nothing is ever ‘deleted’ permanently from the internet i.e. your ‘deleted comments’, you do realize that? We found them as easily as we found ‘modalism’ in the dictionary. Just saying.

proof_07BrianUsesADictionary_19-09-2014

In response to @BrianCHouston, Matt Rollings introduces Prof. Nathan Busenitz (Instructor of Theology. B.A. M.Div. Th.M – The Masters Seminary) into the ring…

@BrianCHouston “religious people?” As a pastor are you not familiar with church history? http://thecripplegate.com/modalism_oneness_and_td_jakes/ … HT @nbusenitz

Ps Chris Rosebrough joined the ‘conversation’ to help explain to Brian Houston exactly what Modalism is, Matt having alerting Chris in the twitter stream as to what Houston had said earlier.

BECAUSE HILLSONG IS OPEN TO “CONVERSATION”…

It appears about this point in time, Brian Houston blocked Matt Rollings from commenting on his wall. In response, Matt put out these tweets:

@BrianCHouston Brian, you have blocked me. I can’t respond to you. Please please!!! pick up a theology text book.

But the conversation did not stop there. This, from the Pulpit and Pen blog site:

P&P Transcript: Brian Houston Asks if Modalism is a “Made Up Word”

The following is a transcript of a segment from Thursday’s Pulpit & Pen Program.

Brian Houston, pastor of the Hillsong United – whatever it is – “church,” had a conversation with one of my friends, Matt, from Canada “eh.” On Twitter, Brian said, “I believe in God the father, I believe in Christ the Son, I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe all three are one.” This is Hillsong’s attempt to say, “Hey! We have a theology! We’re not watered-down and all about worship music!” And so, he’s going to show his theological prowess by affirming the Holy Trinity, and the way he phrased it left open room for interpretation. Matt says to him, “Words matter. You do know that modalists affirm the same, right?” Like, “You know that modalists can actually agree with that, right?”

So what do you think Brian Houston said? Now, he has like 354,000 people following him on Twitter. Yes, three hundred and fifty-four thousand people following him on twitter. Probably, when you count churches and people and followers throughout the world, we’re talking about a huge number of people look to this man for spiritual guidance. I’m not talking about some podunk pastor from Goober Town Arkansas (yes, there is a Goober Town, Arkansas) or Possum Grape or Bald Knob or some place like that in the middle the country. We’re talking about a huge international so-called “church.” Here’s the main guru. What do you think was [Houston’s] response when Matt was like, “Could you be more specific? Modalists agree with this.”

This is his response… This is his response; “Are you one of those religious people who make up words?” He says, “Not even a dictionary has the word modalist in it.”

Listen, if you’re a layperson I understand you may be like, “You guys are snobs, just because he doesn’t know a word.” Listen, if you’re layperson, if you don’t understand… I’m glad you listen to the Pulpit & Pen Program because you need to know what this means. But if you’re a pastor and you don’t know what the word means, get educated. A leader of worldwide movement and you don’t know what modalism is? Why are you the leader of a worldwide movement bounding off towards anything, let alone heresy? How did Brian Houston become a pastor? When Brian Houston became a pastor, did he look a lot like the guy that should have preached that night and they accidentally put him behind the podium instead? Is there a body double? Is he a Manchurian candidate?

He doesn’t know what modalism is, so he actually looks it up and he says “there are no definitions available in the dictionary for modalism?” He said [to Matt], “I don’t even see the definition anywhere? Did you mean medalist or modelist?” And then, finally his response was to (of course) block him for being one of “those religious snobs who throw around big words” like “modalist” – three syllables, for crying out loud. It’s three syllables.

Is it too much to ask that we project leaders who are people that have read a theology textbook at some point in their life? Who might know what ‘modalism’ or other major heresies are? Because you can quote the creeds all day long, Nicene Creed or the Apostle’s Creed, to make yourself sound Orthodox, but you haven’t the ability to provide an apologetic against Oneness Pentecostal heretics like TD Jakes? You see, Satan hates the Trinity – he can’t stand it – and every cult under the sun attacks the Trinity (Mormonism Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc…) every single cult attacks Trinity. So you’re the leader of a movement? Was has come of us? That’s why you, sir -Brian Houston – are in the Daily Downgrade.

Source: P&P Transcript: Brian Houston Asks if Modalism is a “Made Up Word”, Pulpit and Pen, http://pulpitandpen.org/2014/09/18/pp-transcript-brian-houston-asks-if-modalism-is-a-made-up-word/. (Accessed 19/09/2014.)

Baptist Pastor Jordan Hall notified Brian Houston of winning the daily downgrade award. Brian seemed to receive the award well…

proof_05HillsongDowngradeAward_19-09-2014

In the above screen grab you can read this cheeky response from Pulpit & Pen:

@BrianCHouston The P&P staff gives our apologies. What do you mean by “evil”? We can’t find it in the dictionary. Is that a word?

Source: Pulpit & Pen, PulpitAndPen, Twitter, https://twitter.com/PulpitAndPen/status/512685576579854336, 18/09/2014 12:32 PM. (Accessed 20/09/2014.)

Brian Houston chomped back with this comment:

proof_09DemonicChristians_18-09-2014

Right. So Jesus refers to Christian ministers and elders as heretics in Romans and Galatians… Huh? What is Brian Houston thinking? Didn’t the Apostle Paul write Romans and Galatians under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit?

Pulpit & Pen later followed with this comment:

@BrianCHouston @drewchinski Are you sure you’re an expert on heresy to be accusing us of it? “Is Modalism a word?”

Source: Pulpit & Pen, PulpitAndPen, Twitter, https://twitter.com/PulpitAndPen/status/512708352275513344, 18/09/2014 2: 02PM. (Accessed 21/09/2014.)

Yet another twitter response to Brian Houston came from Baptist Elder Gene Clyatt:

If you’re ignorant of both theology & church history, “pastor” is not the job for you… @PulpitAndPen @BrianCHouston

Source: Gene Clyatt, @Shinar_Squirrel, Twitter, https://twitter.com/Shinar_Squirrel/status/512689297724407808, 12:47 PM – 18 Sep 2014. (Accessed 21/09/2014.)

Tony Miano from Cross Encounters also weighed in and rebuked Brian Houston,

. @BrianCHouston To which savior are you referring, Brian? Jesus of the Bible, or the false Jesus of TD Jakes?//REPENT!! (Acts 20:29-30)

Source: Tony Miano, @TonyMiano, Twitter, https://twitter.com/TonyMiano/status/512955263653908480, 6:23 AM – 19 Sep 2014. (Accessed 21/09/2014.)

Now Brian likes to think of himself as being transparent. Authentic. Rising above, when under fire. So what did you think Brian Houston did when he was ‘under fire’ by Christian pastors, brothers in Christ who rightly, and with polite restraint, corrected Brian Houston’s ignorance about modalism?

What does he do? He deletes his tweets. Calls other Christian pastors demonic.
Sounds like he has the “spirit of a pioneer”.

DOCTRINE IS IMPORTANT

So why the big kerfuffle over Brian Houston’s original statement about the Trinity? In light of Brian Houston’s ‘confusion’ about the god of Islam, former Muslim Abdul Saleeb really demonstrates why it is important for Christians to understand the Trinity in this Ligonier podcast:

Opposing Foundations

We thought we would leave you something that Matt Rollings put together with his encounter with Brian Houston.

At his sixtieth birthday Brian Houston decided to get a photo of himself with his axis of apostasy. We have decided to edit the image and put the six names under each of these six “fierce wolves”. These men do not represent the Christian faith and are incredibly dangerous to the spiritual well-being of Christians everywhere. The fact that all stand side-by-side against the warning of scripture prove that they do not “continue in the teaching of Christ” and “do not have God”.

“Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.” 2 John 1:9-11

We personally find it fascinating that Houston’s friends also appear to be Pringle’s friends. Paul de Jong has spoken at C3 Church. Furthermore, we have recorded Phil Pringle sending a video of Casey Treat to City Harvest Church to support Kong Hee. The fact they all stand together as a pack of lobos speaks volumes.

WHO IS STEVE PENNY?

Philip Powell shares his experience,

When I was National General Secretary I became aware of a book written by Steve Penny entitled “Here Come the Prophets“. I recall commenting to my colleagues, “There Go The Prophets Again.”

It really is not a new phenomenon and generally throughout history the movement has caused problems with some strange and at times humorous incidents. For example the apostolic movement in Wales early last century spawned some unusual characters who were named “prophets”. One is reputed to have stood and said, “Lo oh my people you are before me as cabbages. Some of you have soft hearts; some of you have hard hearts; and some of you have no hearts at all.” Another who came into a meeting rather late, during prayer inquired of his neighbour what had been happening. The person explained that the meeting had been quite exiting with some even dancing. The “prophet” waited his time and then at an opportune moment stood and said, “Lo oh my people I hear you have been dancing in my presence. If I had been with you I would have danced too.”

The problem today is that these so called “prophets” have a message about change of culture and such things, which is really nothing less than an attack on the Gospel.

For example Steve Penny speaks of the importance of culture and lines this up with wealth and prosperity and then has the audacity to call it “Kingdom” culture and by that he means the Kingdom of God. He claims that Jesus during His life on earth ate at the best restaurants and, presumably, stayed in the best hotels.

Steve Penny insisted on a local Church paying Business Class travel for him not because he needed it, but because he had to maintain this so called “culture.” He says this is why AoG and the Australian Christian Churches need Brian Houston as their President – because Brian brings this sort of prosperity culture.

One of their rank is reported as teaching younger pastors to “Use people, then when they’ve served their usefulness – SPIT THEM OUT and move on.” One of these men cleverly named his boat – The Office – so that he could honestly tell his parishioners that he was in “The OFFICE” when they called him by phone. What he said and what they understood were two different things. This is what the Bible calls “MAKING A LIE.”

Source: By Philip L. Powell, When is a Prophet NO Profit?, http://www.banner.org.uk/prophets/no-profit.html, (Transcript of a talk given by in BRISBANE, Australia on Friday 20/07/2001.) (Accessed 18/02/2014.)

WHO IS GARY CLARKE?

Hillsong says,

“Gary Clarke and his wife, Cathy, are Lead Pastors at Hillsong London and oversee its fast-growing extension services in the UK and Europe. Originally from Hillsong Sydney, Gary works closely with the lead pastors of our international Hillsong Churches to facilitate Hillsong’s growth and ministry globally.”

Source: SENIOR PASTORS, ELDERSHIP & BOARD, MyHillsong Australia, http://myhillsong.com/senior-pastors-eldership, 20/05/2014. (Accessed 20/04/2014.)

As you can see, these men are unqualified to teach from the bible and must be rejected by Christians if Christians wish to preserve the faith once and for all delivered to the saints.

His lack of further clarification is actually confirming our suspicions that Brian Houston is pushing a secular agenda to expand his own personal Hillsong empire and his master’s domain. He has given us enough evidence to suspect this to be true.

For a long time now, Hillsong has not been showing the signs of tolerating the Christian gospel, the proper handling of God’s Word nor tolerating Christians who try to correct those in error the way the bible instructs them to do so. Will Hillsong remain God’s Church or the People’s Church?

If secularism is against Christianity, then a secular church is also against Christianity.
