Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith recently interviewed Kerri Ferguson on his radio program. If you are not familiar with who Kerri Ferguson is we encourage viewers to read what we have covered on the C3 Penrith scandal so far:
This is footage we have had for a number of years, exposing the cover up of pedophilia in the Australian Christian City Church movement. To this day, NONE of the “pastors” Kerri Ferguson went to for help have EVER bothered checking up on her or apologized for how they refused to help her in her time of need. These “pastors” are Phil Pringle, Brian Houston, Ian Treacy, and Gary Dench.
In Australia, some people consider paedophilia to be worse than murder. Don’t forget these “Pastors” faces that allowed these crimes to continue in the name of “Jesus.”
If they can get away with covering up paedophilia… then nothing can stop them. These men are before the Royal Commission. Yet Brian Houston and Phil Pringle are influencing our political leaders.
Carl Lentz portrays himself as a Christian pastor. However, people are seeing straight through his sheep skin and are now looking at a man who clearly rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ in regards to homosexuality.
Earlier this year, Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith helped break the story about the Broadway couple getting engaged towards the beginning of this year (2015). This gay couple were involved in leadership, leading Hillsong bible studies, one also voluntarily leading a Hillsong music choir.
Rosebrough stated on his program,
“Now when I covered the story earlier last week, I made it clear that I had heard through channels that Carl Lentz had said that they had addressed this and that the pastors of Hillsong were “privately counseling” the couple.” [Source]
Well this is what the result of Hillsong counseling looks like.
The results of this Broadway “counseling” resembles how effective Carl Lentz’ “counseling” has been towards Justin Beiber. Clearly the gospel of repentance and the forgiveness of sins is failing to exist in Hillsong. Carl Lentz needs to put aside his barbie doll clothes, repent of his wickedness and start demonstrating he’s really a “Christian” he claims to be.
His refusal to take Christianity seriously as a “man of God” proves that his sheep skin is wearing thin over his lupine fur.
Reed Kelly and Josh Canfield have made it clear they believe Hillsong approves of their homosexual lifestyle. Why else would Hillsong be tagged in their pictures?”
What is also interesting with these Instagram snapshots is their @HillsongLA! #hillsongLA tags. It appears they have been moved from Carl Lentz’ church, which means he no longer has to deal with them. This echoes Frank Houston’s case where Brian Houston hid his father in another church until the controversies surrounding his pedophilia died down.
While his Pirate Christian Radio conference was on, Chris Rosebrough (from Fighting for the Faith), had two insightful interviews with two ex-Hillsong members.
His first interview was with Elisabeth from Oslo, her testimony how her church was taken over by Hillsong.

What are your thoughts on Chris Rosebrough’s critique on Christine Caine’s speech; his thoughts on the Hillsong child abuse scandal; and how he dealt with Brian Houston’s stance on homosexuality?
We are very concerned with the liberal-secular trends and language emerging from Hillsong. People are now dropping the word Chrislam and associating Brian Houston’s behaviour with his friend Rick Warren and Warren’s controversial Chrislam agenda. This may be true. This may not be true.
The important thing is this: We need Brian Houston of Hillsong Church to properly clarify some serious issues surrounding his recent statements.
OUR RESPONSE TO BRIAN HOUSTON
We hope that Houston responds to our below questions,
Dear Brian Houston
We really appreciate you commenting on our blog. It’s a relief to know that you are keen to clarify this error.
There seems to be confusion among members in your church what the difference is between Islam and Christianity. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for you to address the differences between the two faiths.
While you seem to have clarified the issue, you seem to strongly suggest that “the loving open inclusive arms of a loving God” includes both Christians and Muslims in light of your statement, “the Muslim and you, we actually serve the same God. Allah to a Muslim, to us Abba Father God”.
You’ve supposedly addressed the first issue over Muslims and Christians worshiping the same God but you didn’t clarify where you implied the inclusivity of God in that context. Do you believe that Muslims can be reconciled to God without knowing Christ’s substitionary punishment for their sins?
Lastly, is there anything else in that particular sermon that you feel impelled to publicly repudiate since you said “my allegiance is to the Lord Jesus Christ alone”?
We do not wish to misrepresent your words.
Regards
Churchwatcher
CHRIS ROSEBROUGH’S RESPONSE TO BRIAN HOUSTON
Why is it so important for Brian Houston to respond publicly on such matters? Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith recently commented on our site which we thought was worth reposting.
Brian Houston’s clarification here and on Twitter will be discussed on Monday’s episode of Fighting for the Faith… And here are the problem’s with it:
1) Because of the seriousness of Houston’s gaff (since that’s how he’s treating it) is so great that what is absolutely necessary for him to do is to issue a public statement, preferably both in writing and from his pulpit. It is not sufficient for him to have left a comment on a blog post or make a brief statement on twitter.
2) The brief clarification that Houston has given only adds more confusion to an already convoluted statement. This is due to the fact that Islam DID NOT originate from the descendants of Ishmael. Islam didn’t even show up in human history until 2,700 years AFTER Ishmael was born.
3) To clarify his statement by saying that Islam claims to worship the same God as Abraham is, again, a statement that causes even more confusion. Mormon’s claim to worship the same God as Abraham and so do Jehovah’s witnesses. Yet, the gods that they worship have nothing in common with the YHWH the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!
In order to properly repair the breach that Houston has created by his statement he MUST PUBLICLY, in a high profile way, repudiate his own statement and must make it clear that Islam does NOT worship or serve the same God as Christians OR Abraham. He must make it clear that Allah is an idol and a false god and that salvation cannot be found in Islam but only in repentant faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Until Houston does that, it is my opinion that he’s only attempting to engage in political damage control.

Brian Houston responded:
@iMatthewJ@hillsong Yes it is what came out but No it’s not what I meant Meant that Islam descends from one of Abraham’s sons.. Ishmael.

Furthermore, Brian Houston seems to have published on our website and various YouTube video comment sections the following “correction”:
I wanted to address the issue directly myself and agree that the statement was indeed clumsy in the moment and did not clearly communicate my intention. I was simply making the point that Christians and Muslims both believe that the God of Abraham is their God. I apologise for any confusion and obviously my allegiance is to the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

We are very grateful that Brian Houston has decided to take the time to be responsible over his error and send out “corrections”. However, we will need to address these “corrections” in a separate article. Especially when you see confused comments from Christians under his correction.

It has concerned us that Hillsong and C3 members who have tuned into this controversy on various social media websites are also confused on this. Some Hillsong and C3 members believe that the Islam and Christian God are the same.
This should not be a surprise to anyone considering these ‘ministries’ are secular institutions that tolerate anything but biblical Christianity. It concerns us that Christians are more upset about Brian’s tiny statement and not offended with his sermon that twisted every single scripture for his own purposes.
It’s the equivalent of Christians complaining about a speck of salt in a saltwater pond, thinking that the pond is offering fresh water.
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water. James 3:10-12

What are your thoughts on Chris Rosebrough’s critique of Brian Houston?
In the US, a popular Christian rapper Shai Linne recently wrote a song called Fal$e Teacher$. Knowing the song was going to be provocative, Shai Linne thoughtfully explained why he wrote this song.
The song itself is biblical, inspiring and thought provoking. What Shai Linne didn’t realise is that his song slammed both the C3 & Hillsong Word of Faith cults. In past years, the C3 cult has endorsed and invited Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland and many other false teachers. We know that Brian Houston endorses Phil Pringle’s C3 Cult Movement.
Brian Houston is also in the past endorsed and invited just as many dangerous false teachers including Joel Osteen, infamous modalist TD Jakes and Joyce Meyer. This year, TD Jakes and Joel Osteen are speaking again at Hillsong Conference among other dangerous teachers including Rick Warren, Judah Smith and Craig Groeschel. If you would like to research their dangerous doctrines, please examine the resources in our side bar. Apprising and Fighting For the Faith are good resources to start your research.
At this point it is worth you listening to Shai Linn’s song. (And possibly researching the false teachers mentioned.)
If you listened to the lyrics, the song names the following false teachers that are wreaking havoc on our Lord’s church:
Joel Osteen – false teacher! (Let them know)
Creflo Dollar is a false teacher! (Who else? Who else?)
Benny Hinn is a false teacher! I know they’re popular but don’t let them deceive ya! (Talk to them)
TD Jakes is a false teacher! (Tell the Truth)
Joyce Meyer is a false teacher! (Let them know)
Paula White is a false teacher! Use your discernment, let the Bible lead ya! (Keep going)
Fred Price is a false teacher! (Tell the Truth)
Kenneth Copeland is a false teacher! (Who else? Who else?)
Robert Tilton is a false teacher! I know they’re popular but don’t let them deceive ya! (Talk to them)
Eddie Long is a false teacher! (Let them know)
Juanita Bynum is a false teacher! (Who else? Who else?)
Paul Crouch is a false teacher! Use your discernment, let the Bible lead ya!”
Paula White’s son reacted to the song and wrote a public letter that criticised Shai Linne. While Chris Rosebrough from ‘Fighting For The Faith’ did not interview Shai Linne, he did dialogue with Jovan MacKenzie who is good associates with Shai Linne. MacKenzie discussed Shai Linne’s controversial rap. Listen here.

MacKenzie really emphasised the destructive nature of false teachers in the church and how their false teachings have trashed, demonised, marginalised and sensored Christians from various denominations. The Hillsong and C3 Word of Faith cults are no different.
MacKenzie does a good job addressing the spiritual crimes false teachers are committing on the church.
MacKenzie: You know if I went on TV- if there were ten schools in my city that were molesting children and I came out every day and exposed another school, do you think any of these people are gonna hit me up and cry, “Hey man! I don’t think you should- I know they’re molesting kids but you really shouldn’t- you just shouldn’t do it. Maybe you should hit them up privately-” Or you know, “We all sin. Who are we to judge somebody for molesting kids? You know, I know it’s wrong but maybe you shouldn’t warn their parents”. But nobody would say that because we know that’s foolish.
Rosebrough: Right.
MacKenzie: … If I just say, well, you know, “Hey! There’s a school out there molesting kids. I don’t want to name names though. I just want to drop-” A lot of people say, “Well, you should expose the doctrine but not the person.”
“Well wait a minute! I did that with your kids and say, “Hey man! I’m not wanting these schools to molester kids.”
You’ll be like, “No. You need to tell me what school. Cos my kid goes to school and I need to know who’s molesting kids and I want to get my kid out of there and I want to sue as well.”
Rosebrough: Right.
MacKenzie: You know what I’m saying? So, so- it’s funny we do that with false teachers where they’re not blessing kids, they’re doing a lot worse. They’re molesting souls.
Rosebrough: Yeah?
MacKenzie: They’re molesting the Word of God. They’re switching the Word of God and so- It’s like we’re called to stand in love and be like, “Yo! We need to warn people”. There’s too many people that claim to be of the reformed space but they don’t have a- I’ll try say it in as nice as I can- they don’t have a backbone when it comes to standing for truth…
… We need to make sure that our own heart is right as well. You know, we don’t just need to go on a rampage and just expose for the sake of exposing. But expose because we love God and we love souls. Yeah, I definitely see that. There is not enough people that are shouting and coming against these guys. And my thing is, the worst days, the false churches, they have no problem telling you exactly what they believe. They don’t have any problem with spewing heresy. They’re bold when it comes to speaking their lies. But we’re not bold in speaking the truth. And that’s my problem right there.
Rosebrough: You’re absolutely right.
These are sobering thoughts. Something to consider – is the church at large, or more particularly those attending churches like C3 and Hillsong, loving God and neighbor by tolerating men like Phil Pringle and Brian Houston?
Once again, Chris Rosebrough from ‘Fighting For The Faith’ did a solid biblical critique of Brian Houston’s teaching. He clearly reveals that one of the fundamental flaws of Hillsong’s ministry is Brian Houston’s incompetency in handling God’s Word correctly.
How can a man like Brian Houston lead thousands of Christians into error and not be held accountable to the false teachings he peddles? How can people sit and hear this unscriptural teaching?
