Seriously, when are we going to start boycotting Hillsong? What’s it going to take?
I should be used to it by now, but I scarcely know how to begin expressing my shock and disgust at this.
Family Friendly Hillsong Includes the Dancing Naked Cowboy?
Hillsong NY Features Naked Dancing Cowboy- Seriously
Qualification for Hillsong Youth Pastors: Be a Hot Model
The Naked Cowboy Appears at Hillsong Women’s Conference
Hillsong holds an annual conference for women called the Colour Conference. This year at Hillsong- New York’s (yes, unfortunately, this blasphemous organization masquerading as a church has made it from Australia to the U.S.) Colour Conference, the organizers decided it would be a great idea to feature a “Naked Cowboy” impersonater. (If you don’t know who the Naked Cowboy is, Google at your own risk.)
Now let that sink in a minute: a mostly naked, good looking young man. On stage. In front of thousands of women.
What do you think was the reason for that?
It wasn’t during a regular Sunday morning “worship” service. Or at a men’s conference. Or at a youth event.
It wasn’t because the Naked Cowboy is known for leading any sort of biblical worship.
Hillsong had their youth “pastor” impersonate someone whose claim to fame is being nearly naked in public. In front of a crowd of women.
I can’t imagine any way you could spin this to convince people he was there for any reason besides being an object of lust for those women, like a male stripper at a bachelorette party.
A nearly naked “pastor” on stage to be lusted after. At a “Christian” conference for “Christian” women.
I’d like to take a moment here to remind you that this is the “church” that produced Christine Caine, and that she, Beth Moore, and Priscilla Shirer –false teachers, all – have all been featured speakers at past Colour Conferences.
When your church uses Hillsong music in your worship service or buys other Hillsong materials, this is the organization your offering money is supporting.
If it wasn’t enough that Hillsong teaches heretical Word of Faith theology (and it should be enough), is this enough to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for your church when it comes to using Hillsong materials?
Lots of Christians are boycotting Target over something as Kingdom-inconsequential as bathroom equality. Nobody’s going to spend an eternity in hell because of the bathroom he uses. But people do spend their eternities in hell for believing the false doctrine Hillsong and other Word of Faith organizations peddle. Isn’t it time for us to sweep around our own front door and give heresy the boot? When are we going to start boycotting false teachers and heretical “churches” like Hillsong?
Find out more about Hillsong’s false doctrine and disobedience to Scripture here.

Ive in actually been boycotting this heretical Hellswrong organization since I first heard about them, because I dig a little digging and see what their fruit was like. It was, and still is, rotten. No solid Bible teaching, no solid Bible leaders, and and too much cult adoration of Grand Poobah Brian Houston. It was big turnoff for me.
Bathroom Equality?
No one cares. Its all about the feel good dont convict me of any sin church.
When the blind lead the blind they will all fall in the same pit. The pit of hell. There is enough information on sites like this, but especially the Bible to know right from wrong, yet the sheep still follow and fall in the same pit.
Cant be helped.
Don’t give up hope. The sheep (genuine current converts/ future converts) will hear the Shepherd’s (Jesus’ )voice [John 10:1-8] and will:
* not be deceived in first place OR
* hear/ read the warning and eventually come to their senses and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ of the BIBLE
The goats (false converts) will never listen to other Christian’s warnings because they love experiences rather than the truth, therefore they only will ever listen to “thieves and robbers” i.e. false teachers.
Therefore don’t listen to Hillsong’s lie that “large number of converts = true move of the Holy Spirit”. Just like there will always be more fast food addicts than healthy eaters, there will be always be more goats (followers of false religions/ fake Christians) than sheep (truly converted Christians).
All that Christians who make this type of website can hope for is that God will use their material to bring the sheep to/ back to the Lord sooner than later as He wills.
Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, LASCIVIOUSNESS
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, TEMPERANCE [SELF CONTROL]: against such there is no law.
How can a self-declared Spirit-filled church…
* (Verses 18-21): show un-Christlike conduct and mindsets, obviously fleshly behaviours e.g. “naked cowboy” incident? https://www.christiancourier.com/articles/1123-what-is-lasciviousness
* (Verses 22-23) have multiple incidents of LACK of self-control and biblical wisdom?http://www.gotquestions.org/fruit-Holy-Spirit-self-control.html
* tell multiple “lies of omission” in PR statements e.g. June 3, 2016
@BrianCHouston: Did you hear the one about a [***omitted word***] cowboy? This is what ACTUALLY happened in NYC.
Where’s the adjective “naked”, the word which easily explains why there’s been such a fuss?
Can Houston lie straight in bed? How on earth can a self professed leader of a “church” have the hide to abuse other Christians who call attention to Hillsong’s obvious lack of holiness?
http://brianchouston.com/2016/06/03/have-you-heard-the-one-about-the-cowboy/
Yes it is abuse. 2nd last paragraph, giving translation for Hillsongees:
“…those who perpetuate…” truth tellers are liars
“….the story….” critics aren’t fact-telling, they’re story telling
“…do so mainly with the help of a video…” sufficient footage to convict a criminal caught in the act is only “help”, not proof
” ..no context…” The video footage isn’t enough to speak for itself.
” …and a good dose of what the bible…” apparently there’s a passage in the bible that lets Hillsong NYC off the hook, those meanie critics just haven’t looked hard enough
” describes as hearsay and rumour…” Live video footage is merely rumour. It’s not proof. Critics need to find more proof that it happened live in NYC Hillsong church.
Therefore – always listen to Houston. When he says night is day, up is down, and “naked cowboy” incident “really was NOT pre-planned- I SWEAR”, you MUST agree with him. You don’t want to be labelled as divisive and negative as those meanie, “intellectual Pharisee” discernment websites, do you?!
Churches don’t need to ‘boycott’ so much but actually seek out better examples and practices to follow. Churches that once used Hillsong/Bethel for their music and style are now going to other contemporary less controversial sources, as well as music from 25-40 years ago. They don’t make public statements, they simply champion better examples to follow. It’s one thing to point out the shortfalls, it’s a much greater thing to point towards better examples or music and church practice. They are out there, go seek them out and enjoy the benefits from it and stop being lazy.
Further, from experience of being heavily involved in Hillsong production teams, very little is left to chance when briefing the order of events, especially if key leaders are involved such as Bobbie/Carl. Also, there’s 4-5 lines of heirarchy that checks anything that will happen beforehand, complete with run sheets which are distrubuted to all involved/running the event.
To say people didn’t know beforehand either points to a massive failure of communication from standard practice, or that the Creative team leadership of Cass and Rich Langton really need to recommunicate what is their expectations to their creative team in terms of deceny.
“Churches don’t need to ‘boycott’ so much but actually seek out better examples and practices to follow.”
They should do both. Church’s don’t sing worship songs written by the Mormon or JW cults.
“Churches that once used Hillsong/Bethel for their music and style are now going to other contemporary less controversial sources, as well as music from 25-40 years ago.”
Some are reluctant – but it is something we have observed.
“It’s one thing to point out the shortfalls, it’s a much greater thing to point towards better examples or music and church practice.”
We agree – however, these sites do exist to point out the dangers of these movements we monitor. We occasionally post material that we think helps equip, grow and Christians to maturity. (See menus above near our logo.)
“They are out there, go seek them out and enjoy the benefits from it and stop being lazy.”
How do you know we are lazy?
Honestly, behind the scenes – we help people try to find church’s in their local areas. The church’s we have monitored have largely infected with their spiritually transmitted diseases (STD’s).
Fair points noted .
We need to have a balanced positive response that doesnt further polarise the Christian community internally or externally when such events occur. Sure, highlight the disappointing behaviour, but champion what good examples are out there.
Otherwise it gives the appearance to those yet to embrace faith that we are either foolish or just judgmental. We know that’s not true, let’s demonstrate that.
“We need to have a balanced positive response that doesnt further polarise the Christian community internally or externally when such events occur.”
Light cannot fellowship with darkness. God directly instructs the church to expel/purge the wicked from the church – lest that leaven corrupts the whole batch. Frank Houston was the leaven (a serial pedophile who pretended to be an Apostle of CLC/Hillsong).
The church used your very mentallity Move on to not deal with Hillsong in it’s infancy. Now look at the wickedness, lawlessnes, sin and bad fruit coming out of it:
Lies, cover up, sensuality, jealousy, rivalry, blasphemy, lawlessness, no accountability, immorality and perversions.
Those outside of the faith moreso applaud those trying to address the sins of Hillsong then those who promote it.
If you want to push your ideals on Christianity Move on, join a new age cult.
“We need to have a balanced positive response that doesnt further polarise the Christian community internally or externally when such events occur.
Otherwise it gives the appearance to those yet to embrace faith that we are either foolish or just judgmental. We know that’s not true, let’s demonstrate that.”
@Move on: Let us please forget YOUR opinions of men, and “move on” to what THE BIBLE says about this….
ROMANS 16:17-18 — “17 Now I beseech you, brethren, MARK THEM WHICH CAUSE DIVISIONS and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and AVOID THEM. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”
Did you catch that?? Two things: (1) THEY (HILLSONG) are the ones polarising the Chrisitian commmunity because THEY (HILLSONG) are contrary to the doctrine of the Bible, and (2) AVOID THEM. It doesn’t say ‘bite your fingernails worrying about what those yet to embrace faith’ will think. And it doesn’t say ‘demonstrate’ some silly behavior but act on Scripture.
@Move on: Stop pushing your CULTIC ideals on Christianity. Mature yourself in the Word. Drop your doctrines of men. Know your Bible.
“Otherwise it gives the appearance to those yet to embrace faith that we are either foolish or just judgmental.”
PS — The true sheep will never be drawn to a wishy-washy, watered-down version of Christianity. They want absolute truth. Right or wrong. Stop trying to make Christianity full of gray areas, those draw the goats and tares. Jesus wasn’t wishy-washy and neither were the Apostles.
You don’t even know me, but in two posts I’m already labeled:
– CULTIC
– New Age
– Embracing gray areas
– Wishy washy
– Don’t know the Bible
Wow, What way to shutdown the conversation. In doing so, it’s YOU who loose the opportunity for a constructive conversation, or discuss strategies that actually have worked. All the best with it.
“or discuss strategies that actually have worked.”
Hillsong has NO strategy that has worked.
“Move on”… grow up.
The first response from Churchwatcher was quite neutral, the final sentence was defending their position. Be fair.
The second response was reminding you – and informing people who are unaware- that according to the bible Christians are not to fellowship with nonbelievers. That is merely telling the truth; that is not a personal attack.
already have, but the way you communicate demonstrates you still have a lot of growing up yourself to do, that’s if you actually want to make a positive impact to what you are clearly passionate about.
“already have, but the way you communicate demonstrates you still have a lot of growing up yourself to do”
No you haven’t grown up. I’m not here for fun and games like you are playing. As I stated before, time for you to grow up and start arguing WITH the Bible, not AGAINST it.
“that’s if you actually want to make a positive impact”
You don’t determine nor evaluate my impact, the Lord does. So I disregard your nonsense.
And that’s why I’m calling you out on you poor communication. let me know when your approach see a change in even one life for the better.
When you use the word change, what are you really meaning?
Weightwatchers changes many people’s lives for better. It doesn’t mean that unsaved people (who have successfully lost weight) become genuine followers of Christ thanks to Weightwatchers.
Skateparks have a positive impact in communities with little facilities for teenagers especially. It doesn’t mean skateboarders who’ve become very skilled now (thanks to new skatepark) become genuine followers of Christ thanks to local council.
More definitions, less waffle.
Move on – you’re ample proof that as a Christian your life is not for the better. You’re arguing against the teachings of Jesus and against the clear instructions of Christian discipleship and the Christian faith.
Teachers, evangelists and pastors and the scriptures from the apostles and prophets are to mature us in Christ.
You show no evidence. That’s the stark truth.
Against Jesus? oh come on….look at yourself how you are carrying on to a complete stranger. You know nothing of the thing you need to know about to substainiate the accusations you have given.
Churchwatcher//Willy Ray I really hope neither of you are in leadership in a church anywhere now or in the future with the attitude you have shown me. Though you may even refer to correct doctrine, your harshness and being quick to judge means you don’t live out correct doctrine. You make the Reformed churches linked to this website look embarrasing. Do they actually fully support this website?
When looking at the book of Phillpians, especially chapter 4:5, “let your reasonableness be know to everyone, the Lord is at hand” and then verses 4:8-9, it is only been Thinker that:
– can be consistent in his/her approach to these verses,
– can measure his response with what has been said
– demonstrate examples to back up his position.
Sure, I could quote vast biblical passages back at you, complete within in depth exegesis refuting each false allegation you have made against me in such short interactions, but the fact you cannot show the capacity to have an effective dialogue with the original/start comment demonstrates you can’t even uphold the basics of Paul’s teachings in Phillilpians. What this means IT IS YOU that:
– in this current approach, has shut down any hope for effective communciation.
– Have a totally flawed apologetics capacity and have turned this conversation into nothing more than scrap for a he said/she said scenario.
I’ve been reasonable, you have not. All the best with your cause.
BYE!!
“oh come on….look at yourself how you are carrying on to a complete stranger. You know nothing of the thing you need to know about to substantiate the accusations you have given.”
Move on, look how you have carried on. seems your sarcasm & contempt & lack of interest in true dialogue were noticeable from the start even indicated by your screen name. that was meant to offend everyone wasnt it? ‘stranger’ or no, its noticeable you had a sad attitude from your arrival..
“Churchwatcher//Willy Ray I really hope neither of you are in leadership in a church anywhere now or in the future with the attitude you have shown me.”
theres the spirit. for someone talking about change.. why you “really hoping” the worst (in the future) for people? is that “love”? you like quoting philippians so much.. 1 cor 13:7 kind of fell thru the cracks didnt it?
“oh come on” you dont have a sad attitude move on? please. your a hypocrite. you think you are a better example of Jesus? uh no. you seem to be in no position be a moral judge over who should-shouldnt be in leadership.
“your harshness and being quick to judge means you don’t live out correct doctrine.”
while your not harsh? again your a hypocrite because you think you should judge who should-shouldnt be in leadership. you decide who does-doesnt live out doctrines. you seem to have it out for this website from the start. you had a sad aittude from the start. theres no denying that up mate.
“You make the Reformed churches linked to this website look embarrassing. Do they actually fully support this website?”
they dont seem embarrassed. not one asked their links be removed. more of your judgments. its you make the rest of us Christians embarrassed.
its interesting is the contempt-bigotry you also display towards reformed churches. not much “love” from your for them either, move one..
“Sure, I could quote vast biblical passages back at you,”
thats doubtful. no i mean its laughable.
“complete within in depth exegesis refuting each false allegation you have made against me in such short interactions,”
in your mind only. e everything other posters said about you is coming true..
“but the fact you cannot show the capacity to have an effective dialogue with the original/start comment”
it appears its “really” you who had the sad attitude from the start. with no intention of “having dialogue” but every intention of “making changes”..
“but the fact you cannot show the capacity”
more of your simple judgmentalism. when you cant discern brian houston and his friends are evil because your only here for arguments be honest mate.
“you can’t even uphold the basics of Paul’s teachings in Phillipians.”
but you cant uphold the basics of pauls teachings through new testament to guard the flock, avoid false hirelings, and so on.. and forget about “love”, you blew that one to..
“IT IS YOU that: Have a totally flawed apologetics capacity”
when you have spoken as an accuser of the brethren from the devil since your start. quite a conversationalist you are. speaking of drawing people, your not the mr friendly you preported to be.
“I’ve been reasonable, you have not.”
in your mind only in your mind only. cant imagine how any unsaved could be drawn to your viscious badittude. . furthermore you also have a big non-christian type if ego..
how many times you saying goodbye..? please let that be your last thx.
…..Just one more time, BYE!! and echoing the words of Gamaliel in Acts 5, good luck with it all
By Gamaliel! Take your pharisaism with you.
I doubt there will be any significant boycott until mainstream churches publicly rebuke Hillsong and ask their congregations not to associate with them. Hillsong is a cancer that has infested so many denominations and is doing real damage to the church. So many people still buy their albums and attend their conferences. It’s time to call a spade a spade. Hillsong is not a Christian church.
