It is important for Christians to grasp just how dangerous Darlene Zschech has become in light of her allegiance to Rome and her condemnation of Christians who have spoken out against her worship for the pope. While this article is long, it will be worth your time reading to see how much Zschech has aligned herself to Roman Catholicism by examining her theology.

Pope Francis

A FALSE SPIRIT

Darlene says she can see what “the Holy Spirit is doing around the earth” claiming it “is completely breathtaking.” However, she notes “His role in our experience of following Jesus makes us so very similar.” Notice that this is NOT the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth. While Mrs. Zschech is not zschecking to see if this spirit is the Holy Spirit or another spirit at work, she is elevating this phenomena and “experience” as though it is.

Darlene also states,

“I relate it being a part of a family.. different characteristics, faces, tastes and giftings.. yet a DNA running through our veins that draw us together.”

Once again. No truth. No holiness. Just flights of fancy and delusion at best.

A FALSE STANDARD

Darlene writes,

“A few months ago a very interesting email turned up in my office inviting me… to actually lead songs of worship with others as the Pope called people to prayer and unity.”

A normal Christian would be concerned over this. They would go to God in prayer and to His Word. They would also be diligent in researching what they are involved in due to Roman Catholicism’s colourful history. They would consider if what they are doing is furthering the proclamation of the gospel or doing damage to the truth or personal witness of Christ.

So how did Darlene approach this sensitive issue?

“Most invites I receive, I am unable to say yes to, but when Mark and I feel a peace about it, I go forward very prayerfully and with great expectation for all God will do.”

So what was her standard for attending? Not the bible. Not the Holy Spirit. It was her feeling “a peace about it.”

How reliable are your feelings?

A FALSE UNITY

What’s worse was she fell for the false Ecumenical doctrine of Roman Catholicism. It wasn’t just denominations. It was with other religions such as Roman Catholicism and Judaeism. Different religions are not denominations. This is Darlene Zschech capitalising on people’s ignorance.

“This invite to Rome was about many different denominations coming together to pray for the world we live in. To worship together, to announce the Hope of Jesus to all who will hear.”

This is a false unity. Christianity is united in the central truths on Christ’s teachings. Roman Catholicism and Judaeism do not do this. This is why the song ‘Amazing Grace’ may have been chosen – because it’s a song that leaves the name of Jesus out. So… how can Darlene say she was “there to lift up the name of Jesus?”

Does she not know that the gospel that Christ preached causes controversy and division? Does she not know that when Christ tells us to preach the gospel that the Christian IS judging? How can she claim to lift up Christ but say she “was not there to judge?”

A FALSE WORSHIPER

But she DID judge and CONDEMN. Who did she judge and condemn? The pope for preaching heresies and blasphemies?

No. Darlene decided to pass condemnation on Christians who rightly called her out on her compromise to paganism:

“So, I must say I was completely taken by surprise at the harsh and downright mean comments from Christians who criticised my involvement in the event without any understanding, without any knowledge of why or how I got to be there. Or why I even felt it was important to be present.”

According to Darlene, Christians who spoke against her apostasy are “without any understanding” and are “without any knowledge of why or how I got to be there.” This is a classic Brian Houston maneuver to escape any form of accountability and responsibility and to appeal to those who blindly support Mrs. Zschech.

Darlene – you got there because you are false teacher and are not a Christian. You threw out God’s commandments years ago and have followed “after your own heart and your own eyes, which you […] whore[d] after” (Numbers 15:39). You have not remembered or followed Christ’s commandments and have refused to “be holy to your God” (Numbers 15:40). If Jesus was truly your God, you would realise the danger you are in by embracing Roman Catholic ecumenism.

You claim, you were “not there to become a Catholic” but in the past you claim that you “serve the Catholic Church in its vision to present the gospel.” So tell us how you are not Catholic? You just condemned CHRISTIANS over your decision to sing for Jesus the Pope but claim that you were there “to lift up the name of Jesus.” Which Jesus?

You claim you went there “without any hesitation or compromise,” but you were happy to shake your hand with the pope and condemn Christ’s sheep with the other. Compromise? Really?

Did you HEAR how the pope used “grace” to promote Ecumenism and compromise in his message? Your own words condemn you. The Pope has deceived you into believing this is Christianity and that these people worship Jesus:

“A message was preached about the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our midst, and about the great grace of God which we are all dependent. Pope Francis asked the crowd to declare loudly,’Jesus is Lord’ three times and each time it grew in confidence and intention. Worship was lifted up which had the many thousands of people who attended all singing in free-flowing moments which to be honest, was reminiscent of a time I sang on a John Wimber crusade in New Zealand many years ago.”

You claim, “I have learned over many years, that once Jesus is the centre, anything can happen.” So now you are blaming Jesus for your compromise towards pagan Rome? That is blasphemy, considering the fact that Roman Catholicism teaches that the pope is Jesus veiled in flesh.

It’s people like you that give Christianity a bad name.

Your compromise is as adulterous as the sins of Ancient Israel against God. You are playing the harlot and attributing the name of God to other deities, leading other Christians spiritual prostitution. God’s Word has pronounced this over you like the other apostates in Israel’s rebellious days:

“And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,” Isaiah 29:13 (Emphasis ours.)

You write, “So, I must say I was completely taken by surprise at the harsh and downright mean comments from Christians who criticised my involvement in the event without any understanding, without any knowledge of why or how I got to be there. Or why I even felt it was important to be present.”

One can’t help but ask why you’re so quick to judge your critics without any understanding, without any knowledge of why they’re coming to you in concern, or why they felt it was so important to speak out against your actions.

A FALSE HISTORY PRESENTATION

Darlene doesn’t stop there. She appears to treat Roman Catholicism as a legitimate sect of Christianity:

“The truth is that there are parts of every denomination that struggle with historical injustices, and I cannot even fathom some of the abuses and subsequent heartbreak endured due as a result of these actions.”

Here Darlene still insists that Roman Catholicism is a Christian denomination and is downplaying the crimes of pagan Roman Catholicism. The problem is that Zschech does not realise that it was Roman Catholicism that eternally damned and murdered Christians for preaching the saving Gospel of Grace to Jesus.

She then has the audacity to try and convince Christians that Roman Catholicism is seeking after Jesus. She writes,

“But I also know that the word of God says that if people truly seek after God, they will find Him.
( Jeremiah 29:13Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Zschech is misusing Jeremiah 29:13 and using the Roman Catholic ecumenical doctrine and Roman Catholic mysticism to silence critics and to obscure the horrific history of the Roman Catholic institution. While Jeremiah was exposing Israel of following false prophets (like Darlene Zschech) and whoring after other Gods (eg. Pope Francis), Darlene is using Jeremiah’s words to do the exact opposite. She is standing for ecumenism, suggesting that those she has gathered with are seeking “after God.”

An example of what ecumenism looks like.

A FALSE TRUTH

“It all comes down to a seeking heart. And a God, who is seeking us, is NOT defined or intimidated by denomination, liturgy, age or preferences… the TRUTH of our hearts toward Him is what He is after.”

Darlene – Jesus himself says the heart is WICKED. And right now you are committing the downplay fallacy (a deceitful argument) and making God Himself to be a liar.

God says that no one seeks after God, no not one (Romans 3). But here you are encouraging Christians to embrace another god in Jesus’ name. You are elevating the human heart and downplaying God’s holiness to justify your sin.

Jesus said,

“But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.” Matthew 15:19 (Emphais ours.)

After watching you maliciously swipe at Christians and defend your position to sing before a false Jesus, you insist that God looks at the “TRUTH of our hearts toward Him.” What truth is in your heart toward him? Hypocrisy and lies are all we are seeing flowing from your heart.

Admit you made a mistake, repent and return to your crucified saviour who died for your wicked heart and come the realisation that without him, you are wicked. You need to step down as a pastor and leader, pick up God’s Word and reform and submit to who you confess is Lord.

A FALSE MIRACLE

“So yes, I did meet Pope Francis. And yes, I did witness something truly miraculous.”

Did Mrs Zschech witness lying signs and wonders and “feel a peace about” this false “miraculous” unity?

Zschech: “I did meet Pope Francis. And yes, I did witness something truly miraculous.”

She also states,

“Change is happening all over the planet.”

Change is happening all over the planet. But this change is not Christianity. Roman Catholicism is a politically correct pagan religion that presents a false Jesus that will not save someone from their sin.

A FALSE CHRISTIAN

Now Darlene Zschech starts to take off her sheepskin. We hope Darlene really reconsiders what she says here.

“There is a hunger for the truth of being a Christ follower.”

Darlene, it’s a shame people can’t see the truth in you anymore. How can you claim to be a Christian when you exchange the truth of God for a lie? The people you are mingling with love having a form of godliness but deny God’s power. They love the appearance but hate the truth. And because they hate the truth, they invited you.

“and so Christ followers need to be found EVERYWHERE..”

So the Pope’s not Catholic? You’re calling him a Christian Darlene? And you call yourself a Christian pastor and worship leader? What are you worshiping? How did you become a pastor again? How exactly are you proving you’re a Christian who submits to the lordship of Christ by ignoring what God has written?

A FALSE LOVE

“that we will be a witness BY OUR LOVE.”

Darlene has demonstrated again and again that she abhors Christ, His Church and His Word. She also despised Christians by refusing to listen to what they have to say. She is more adamant in elevating the second commandment above the first, thus proving she is an idolater.

The Christian love is a fruit of the GOSPEL that Christ commanded we preach to all nations. But Darlene, you wouldn’t know what love is because the truth of God is not in you. If the truth is in you, why are you pushing a false love through the false Roman Catholic ecumenical doctrine and not contending for the Christian faith?

A FALSE LIGHT

“C’mon church. Isaiah 60 says to ARISE SHINE Thy light has come that even as the earth grows darker,”

C’mon church. 1Corinthians 5 says to “expel/purge the wicked person from among us” unless they repent. Darlene is deliberately hiding the light of Christ and His Word under a bushel by compromising His message and whoring after Rome.

“Christ’s light in us shines brighter.”

Where has truth and light been evident in Darlene’s words and behaviour? Her authority is her feelings, her words are maligning Christians and her beliefs are elevating man and paganism above Christ and His Word. She has ignored the warning of God:

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20

Jesus diagnoses this issue that Darlene has by saying “If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:23.) We are called to have nothing to do with darkness but expose them (Ephesians 5:11).

Darlene is hiding the gospel of Christ under a bushel and is calling the darkness, light. The truth of God illuminates, the lie darkens.

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” Luke 11:33-36 (Emphasis added.)

A FALSE UNDERSTANDING

Darlene said,

“Let’s not be dulled down by a lack of understanding,”

Darlene is suggesting that Christians who spoke against are “dulled down by a lack of understanding?” We’ve pointed out the fact that Darlene does not understand who Jesus is nor understands the dangers of Roman Catholicism.

“[…] or a judgmental attitude.”

But it is Darlene that has had a judgmental attitude against Christians who Protestantly protested her worshiping for the Pope.

She also said,

“I had to continually remind myself that I was there to announce and declare the Kingdom of God,”

What does this mean? What was causing Darlene to forget? What gospel was she presenting? She hasn’t told us anything in depth in regards to how she shared the gospel to anyone. This vague statement offers no insight.

“[…] and not to fault find […]”

Once again – the people she did “fault find” were Christians – not Roman Catholics or the Pope.

“[…] but to be aware and awake to something very precious.”

What does that mean? False teachers always play word games and hide behind meaningless, mystical language – what was ‘precious’?

“And so on we go, hearts and hands ready for all God is calling us into.”

Another meaningless mystical statement that you’d expect a New Age guru to say.

Darlene Zschech ends with this

“Love you all so much xx Darls”

Who is Darlene kidding? She loves everyone except Bible believing Christians.

CONCLUSION

People may think we are harsh with Darlene. However, it is people like her that DEMAND she be followed. She now prides herself as a pastor of Hope Unlimited Church (what hope does she offer?), which means she expects people to SUBMIT to her UNBIBLICAL authority.

Sadly, Darlene is another fraud who likes the benefits of Christianity but does not like the hard responsibility nor the accountability that comes with the office. As soon as she steps out of line, just like other false teachers, they downplay their responsibilities, condemn Christians and insist that we march to the beat of their visions and drums.

In this case, Darlene is playing the harlot for Pagan Rome and telling Christians that Jesus endorses her sins of compromise, peddling Roman Catholic mysticism and ecumenism in the process.

Darlene Zschech writes,

CHANGES

Hey, lovely people.

I am writing this mid-air on my way home from Singapore after an amazing time away speaking, leading worship, writing songs, being with dear friends. It has been wonderful. And, to see what the Holy Spirit is doing around the earth is completely breathtaking. Even in all the expressions that make us different as God’s colourful church, its incredible to me that when the Holy Spirit draws near, His role in our experience of following Jesus makes us so very similar. I relate it being a part of a family.. different characteristics, faces, tastes and giftings.. yet a DNA running through our veins that draw us together.

One of the highlights was finding myself with Mark in Rome. A few months ago a very interesting email turned up in my office inviting me to sing at a beautiful event called the ‘Catholic charismatic renewal’ at St Peters Square, to actually lead songs of worship with others as the Pope called people to prayer and unity.

Most invites I receive, I am unable to say yes to, but when Mark and I feel a peace about it, I go forward very prayerfully and with great expectation for all God will do.

This invite to Rome was about many different denominations coming together to pray for the world we live in. To worship together, to announce the Hope of Jesus to all who will hear. Mark and I felt it was important to say yes this time.

So, I must say I was completely taken by surprise at the harsh and downright mean comments from Christians who criticised my involvement in the event without any understanding, without any knowledge of why or how I got to be there. Or why I even felt it was important to be present.

I was not there to judge, I was not there to become a Catholic, I was not there to sightsee. But I WAS there to lift up the name of Jesus.. without any hesitation or compromise.. for as I have learned over many years, that once Jesus is the centre.. anything can happen.

A message was preached about the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our midst, and about the great grace of God which we are all dependent. Pope Francis asked the crowd to declare loudly,’Jesus is Lord’ three times and each time it grew in confidence and intention. Worship was lifted up which had the many thousands of people who attended all singing in free-flowing moments which to be honest, was reminiscent of a time I sang on a John Wimber crusade in New Zealand many years ago.

There is much I could say in this blog. I will say that it is sad when Christians beat up other Christians with words, and somehow think that it ok to do so. I will say that it is sad when we retreat to immature responses rather than being people of diligent prayer for ALL sectors of the church. The truth is that there are parts of every denomination that struggle with historical injustices, and I cannot even fathom some of the abuses and subsequent heartbreak endured due as a result of these actions.

But I also know that the word of God says that if people truly seek after God, they will find Him.

( Jeremiah 29:13Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

It all comes down to a seeking heart. And a God, who is seeking us, is NOT defined or intimidated by denomination, liturgy, age or preferences… the TRUTH of our hearts toward Him is what He is after. Not controlled or manufactured, outside in expressions of lives trying to present a Holy life. Jesus, only Jesus is the answer. He takes us as He finds us. He works with us every day, from the inside out, patient and kind in His love for us and His ultimate work in our lives, leading us daily in our life’s purpose.

So yes, I did meet Pope Francis. And yes, I did witness something truly miraculous.

Change is happening all over the planet. There is a hunger for the truth of being a Christ follower, and so Christ followers need to be found EVERYWHERE.. that we will be a witness BY OUR LOVE.

C’mon church. Isaiah 60 says to ARISE SHINE Thy light has come that even as the earth grows darker, Christ’s light in us shines brighter. Let’s not be dulled down by a lack of understanding, or a judgmental attitude. I had to continually remind myself that I was there to announce and declare the Kingdom of God and not to fault find but to be aware and awake to something very precious. And so on we go, hearts and hands ready for all God is calling us into.

Go into ALL the world….

How do you spit on the face of the famous songwriter John Newton (who wrote ‘Amazing Grace’), and kiss the Whore of Babylon in one breath?

Allow Hillsong’s popular Darlene Zschech to sing ‘Amazing Grace’ to the Pope.

Darlene Zschech Hillsong RCC Harlot

“You worship me with your lips but your heart is far from me.” – God

This is a blasphemous act when one considers that it was the Roman Catholic Church that eternally damned any Christian (and often to death) who preached that someone is saved by God’s grace alone. Darlene said at WYD08,

“We see WYD08 as a great opportunity to serve the Catholic Church in its vision to present the gospel and reach out to our city, our nation and our world in unity.” [Source]

To this very day, Roman Catholicism STILL preaches a gospel that says “no absolute assurance of salvation” is given to a person. Instead, a person may “have a moral assurance of salvation.” The above excerpt was from an evangelistic booklet handed out at the ecumenical** World Youth Day Sydney, an event where Darlene Zschech and Hillsong United led worship.

“Some people promote an especially attractive idea: All true Christians, regardless of how they live, have an absolute assurance of salvation, once they accept Jesus into their hearts as “their personal Lord and Savior.” The problem is that this belief is contrary to the Bible and constant Christian teaching. The Bible makes it clear that Christians have a moral assurance of salvation… but the Bible does not teach that Christians have a guarantee of heaven. There can be no absolute assurance of salvation.” – Pillar of FIRE, Pillar of TRUTH, WYDSYD08, Published by Catholic Answers, Inc. 2008. [Source]

Darlene’s participation is a sign to Protestants that they should “return to Rome” and reinforces people involved in the global Roman Catholic movement to not leave. In fact, the bible clearly demonstrates that Darlene Zschech is not a Christian but a false teacher, usurping biblical offices and as a false teacher – progressing from bad to worse.

This is because Darlene Zschech needs to get a clue to who her worship was directed to at this event. Consider who her audience was: The Pope (The Vicarius Christi). The Catholic Encyclopedia has this to say about the Pope:

“A title of the pope implying his supreme and universal primacy, both of honour and of jurisdiction, over the Church of Christ. It is founded on the words of the Divine Shepherd to St. Peter: “Feed my lambs. . . . Feed my sheep” (John 21:16-17), by which He constituted the Prince of the Apostles guardian of His entire flock in His own place, thus making him His Vicar and fulfilling the promise made in Matthew 16:18-19.

In the course of the ages other vicarial designations have been used for the pope, as Vicar of St. Peter and even Vicar of the Apostolic See (Pope Gelasius, I, Ep. vi), but the title Vicar of Christ is more expressive of his supreme headship of the Church on earth, which he bears in virtue of the commission of Christ and with vicarial power derived from Him. Thus, Innocent III appeals for his power to remove bishops to the fact that he is Vicar of Christ (cap. “Inter corporalia”, 2, “De trans. ep.”). He also declares that Christ has given such power only to His Vicar Peter and his successors (cap. “Quanto”, 3, ibid.), and states that it is the Roman Pontiff who is “thesuccessor of Peter and the Vicar of Jesus Christ” (cap. “Licet”, 4, ibid.). The title Vicar of God used for the pope by Nicholas III (c. “Fundamenta ejus”, 17, “De elect.”, in 6) is employed as an equivalent for Vicar of Christ.”

Source: Vicar of Christ, The NewAdvent, http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/15403b.htm, Accessed 27/07/2015.

‘Vicarius Christi’ means ‘instead of Christ’ or ‘Representation of Christ’. Oddly enough, the term anti-Christ means ‘replacement of Christ’. The similarities are striking, not to mention the fact that it is the Holy Spirit that fully represents Jesus Christ here on earth while Christ is seated in heaven. It is no wonder that pagan Roman Catholicism treats the pope like the man-god Pharoah of pagan Egypt:

Darlene shakes hands with 'Jesus'.

Darlene shakes hands with ‘Jesus’ but ‘Jesus’ doesn’t promise her salvation.

The Evangelical Industrial Complex (Hope 103.2 radio) recently decided to flog Hillsong’s beloved Darlene Zschech to sing at a dangerous ecumenical event in Rome for the “Vicar of Christ.”

Darlene Zschech Leads Worship For Pope

Australia’s iconic Christian singer Darlene Zschech led worship for Pope Francis at an ecumenical prayer gathering of more than 30,000 people at the Vatican last week.

The event, on Friday July 3, was a prayer and worship gathering for the persecuted church called Voices In Prayer led by Pope Francis in St Peter’s Square.

It was part of the 38th Annual Convocation of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, a Holy-Spirit centred movement within the Catholic Church also known as Renewal In The Holy Spirit (Rinnovamento nello Spirito Santo).

Darlene sang alongside the world-renowned tenor and devout Catholic Andrea Bocelli, US worship leader Don Moen, and Israeli singer-songwriter Noa (Anchinoam Nini).

Together they led the gathering of believers in singing Amazing Grace.

Ecumenical Event Makes History

The event brought together Protestants, Catholics and Jews together to pray for believers around the world who are being martyred and persecuted.

According to The Examiner, it was historic occasion, being the first ever ecumenical event held in St Peter’s Square.

According to an article in Christian Today the Catholic Charismatic Renewal’s president, Salvatore Martinez wanted the event to represent the church’s love for their persecuted brothers and sisters.

“We want to give a voice to those who have lost the right to live, to have a home with their families and live with their loved ones,” he said.

“The right to confess a faith means the capacity to confess it freely.”

Calling All Believers To Pray For The Persecuted

World renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli sings alongside Darlene Zschech (R) and Israeli singer Noa.

US worship artist Don Moen, one of the singers at the event, called on believers to join in the prayer movement.

“Although there are many denominational differences throughout the church worldwide, I have seen first hand how coming together in worship and prayer promotes unity,” he said in a press release.

“Join me as we pray for those who are being jailed, beaten, and killed for professing their belief in Jesus Christ.”

Pope Francis Urges Believers To Look To The Holy Spirit

Pope Francis addressed the gathering, warning people not to rely upon charismatic leaders but instead on the Holy Spirit, according to a report in Christian Today.

He also said he believes the Catholic Church should not have leaders for life, and that pontiffs should be prepared to resign if they could no longer lead.

”Let’s be clear. The only one who cannot be substituted in the Church is the Holy Spirit,” he said.

Darlene Praising God For Unity In The Church

Darlene Zschech, who co-leads Hope Unlimited Church on the NSW Central Coast, said after the event on her Facebook page, “What a day. All honour and praise to our Father in Heaven. Thank You, Thank You, Jesus.”

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a movement recognised by church leaders including the Pope, that emphasises the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus and expressing the gifts of the Holy Spirit – such as prophecy, healing and speaking in tongues.

According to the Catholic World Report, by 2013 the movement had members in more than 230 nations, with over 160 million members.

Hillsong Conference speakers supporting pagan Roman Catholicism

The scriptures say,

“[…] and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God.” Numbers 15:39-41 (Emphasis ours)

07Flag_RCCHillsong is a classic example of what idolatrous Israel looked like in the Old Testament. In similar fashion, Hillsong are following after their own hearts and their own eyes, which they have inclined to “whore after”. The result of this never ends well.

In departing from the Word of God, they are prone to wonder into paganism, which sadly, this article will examine. Which pagan religion is Hillsong whoring after? The answer is the pagan religion of Roman Catholicism.

hillsong pope rcc roman catholic church

If Hillsong really take their worship “in spirit and in truth” seriously and want to be considered a Christian church, they will need to start cleaning up their beliefs and those they invite to speak at their conferences.

INTRODUCTION

“SPEAK, WE’RE LISTENING – is a declaration that we are indeed, listening.”

We really do hope Brian Houston and Hillsong really are listening, because at the moment, nothing can be further from the truth.  This article will be looking at the speakers that “preached” at Hillsong Conference 2015, proving that Hillsong do not hear from God as their advertising suggests.

Before reading this article, we strongly suggest that you read Hillsong unashamedly and unethically manipulating Christians to embrace pagan Roman Catholicism (often through ecumenism):

Hillsong embracing Roman Catholicism and the false social gospel (Part 4)

RICK WARREN

Rick Warren recently spoke at Hillsong Conference 2015.

He said the following shocking statement in a Catholic video while referring to Catholics and Protestants, (see link to previous article):

“The most important thing is, if you love Jesus we’re on the same team.” [Source]

Muslims love ‘Jesus’ and Mormon’s love ‘Jesus’. Does this mean that Warren includes them on his team? Catholics also love ‘Jesus’, in fact this is a picture of the Catholic ‘Jesus’ (Eucharist) in the flesh, in a golden Monstrance.

Warren 7

Warren seems to think that this is the same Jesus of the Bible. However, if you love the Catholic ‘Jesus’ then you love an idol.

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame. Isaiah 44:9

We showed in a previous article that the Roman Catholic Church teaches that the Eucharist turns into the actual flesh of Jesus.

This picture shows what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches.

Rick Warren is openly supporting the Catholic Church and Hillsong openly embrace him. Surely Warren would have nothing to do with the worship of an idol like the Monstrance right?

Wrong! This photo is from the ‘Proclaiming the Gospel’ Newsletter, September 2014 issue and it clearly shows that Warren has no problem in watching Catholic television and the worship of the Monstrance!

Here is the full video that shows Warren’s shocking support for the Catholic Church including calling Pope Francis, ‘our Pope’ and saying, ‘If you love Pope Francis, you’ll love Jesus”! This video is worth watching in full.

This is an example of Warren’s favourite TV show, ‘The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy’. Notice how the entire show revolves around praying to the blasphemous idol Monstrance, another Jesus.

So the question needs to keep being asked why Hillsong keeps Rick Warren to teach in their church?

Warren 2

This Twitter post is another example of Warren’s true position on how he views the Pope. Is not God our Father?

“And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.” Matthew 23:9

Warren 3

This Twitter post shows Warren promoting ‘Evangelical Catholicism’, saying that it should be read by all Christian leaders!

Warren 4

So what is Rick Warren? Is he a Christian or a Roman Catholic? For him to flipflop over something this important only reveals that he is “unstable in all his ways”.

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8

This next video shows Warren supporting the ‘Catholic come home’ campaign.

Warren 5

So what is Rick Warren? A Christian or a pagan Roman Catholic? This is important to consider when you read these next twitter posts from Rick Warren

Warren 6

This shows that Warren believes leadership has nothing to do with ‘what you do’, or leading by example. (This teaching would have suited Frank Houston’s ministry, no accountability for any actions. It also suits Brian Houston’s approach in dealing with his father and his choice to preach a twisted gospel.)

JOSEPH PRINCE

Hillsong Conference 2015 also had Joseph Prince speak. Brian Houston’s close friend is also leaning toward Catholicism.

Watch this next video as Joseph introduces blasphemous ‘Mother Grace’ doctrine. Joseph Prince is more subtle than Warren when it comes to promoting Catholicism; however he is just as dangerous.

Prince”…Having the same mother. We have the same Heavenly Father and the same mother grace, and our mother is not law.”

Prince 2

This is what Prince says about repentance in one of his best sellers, “Destined to reign, The secret to effortless success, wholeness and victorious living”.

“Stop examining yourself and searching your heart for sin” [Page 187]

“There are still people who insist that we have to preach on repentance. Well, I disagree!”  [Page 232]

Prince 4

Please watch this wonderful video of Justin Peters explaining how speaking things into existence is blasphemous. The video at 37:30, includes Joseph Prince explaining his version of repentance.

Prince 5

According to Joseph Prince, we receive everything back even to overcome death itself, by the work of ‘eating’!

“One time the Lord spoke to me… How can a small piece of bread and a cup make all the difference in the world? The simple act of eating and the Lord says, ‘All the tragedies known to men, all the cancer, the diabetes, the heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, even poverty even death it’s self all came about because of Adam simple act of eating from the wrong tree’. If that is so doesn’t it stand to Holy reason then that God would, through the last Adam, Jesus Christ, cause us to receive everything back from the simple act of eating, mmmmm Amen.”

“Only those who are saved are the ones chewing His flesh, drinking His blood”.
Source: Joseph Prince, Sermon: ‘Health and wholeness through the Holy Communion’, (Disc 5 DVD series.)

We do need to keep in mind that this may be a language issue. However, the parallels are there. Joseph Prince is again pushing pagan Roman Catholic doctrine, as the Roman Catholic Church teach that the Eucharist becomes Jesus in the flesh and that salvation is through the Eucharist.

MARTIN SMITH

Next we come to Martin Smith the former singer of Delirious, who was invited as a guest to Hillsong Conference 2015.

Smith fits right into Hillsong culture as Delirious performed at World Youth Day 2005, just as Hillsong did in 2008.

Hillsong embracing Roman Catholicism and the false social gospel (Part 4)

Not only did they perform but they were even included in the official Catholic, World Youth Day CD ‘Building One World’. (Note: the last time anyone tried to build ‘one world’ God intervened at the Tower of Babel.)

The Catholic building of ‘one world’ is all part of their ecumenical agenda of uniting all religions under themselves (and with a spokes person like Warren; they are well on their way of achieving their goals).

This is a screen shot from the Delirious? Web site promoting their performance and also showing the ‘Building One World’ album cover.

WYD 05

In a previous article we showed that Hillsong assisted the Catholics in worship to a false god and idol in 2008. Below are photos from World Youth Day 2005, showing the idol god that Martin Smith and Delirious? helped Catholic’s worship.

“At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.” Matthew 24:23

WYD 05 2

These are some blasphemous quotes that were spoken by the Pope at that same World Youth Day about the false god in the Eucharist and Monstrance.  This is what Martin Smith is aligning himself with and supporting.

Prior to Mass, the Pope said the following:On Sunday 21st August 2005, the same day that Martin Smith performed.

“The new prayer – which the Church calls the “Eucharistic Prayer” – brings the Eucharist into being.”

“The Eucharist must become the centre of our lives.”

“This is because the Eucharist releases the joy that we need so much, and we must learn to grasp it ever more deeply, we must learn to love it.”

“Let us pledge ourselves to do this – it is worth the effort! Let us discover the intimate riches of the Church’s liturgy and its true greatness…”

“Through your love for the Eucharist you will also rediscover the Sacrament of Reconciliation, in which the merciful goodness of God always allows us to make a fresh start in our lives.”

SO WHAT ARE WE SEEING AT HILLSONG?

Essentially what we are seeing at Hillsong are leaders leading with closed minds and closed bibles, following after pagan mystical experiences and slapping “Jesus” on anything that sounds spiritual. This is incredibly dangerous considering the men that he Houston family like to snuggle up to.

If Hillsong wants to be considered Christian in any way, shape or form, they need to break their Roman Catholic church connections.

This is an important thing to do considering the fact that Hillsong are sidelining Jesus at the expense of being in the “divine” presence of the pope himself.

Below are some recent comments of Bobbie Houston from her instagram page, showing that she thinks it’s “sweet” when one of her followers says how great it is that the Pope is reaching out to Hillsong and “we are one church in Christ. Makes me proud to be Catholic.”

Interestingly, it also shows that Brian and Joel Houston did in fact meet the Pope in 2008.

proof_Instagram-BobbieHoustonPopeAndFamily_08-07-2015Hillsong continues to support and embrace Catholicism by not speaking out against it and embracing other “Christian” leaders who promote it.

If this is not enough, the Hillsong Conference FaceBook post shows that Hillsong are ‘excited’ to unite with Catholicism and that Hillsong are championing the cause of the local Catholic church.

THE PROTEST IS NOT OVER HILLSONG

If Hillsong is truly a Christian and Protestant church they would make a stand. Instead, they remain as “infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming” (Ephesians 4:14).

Again and again, we have proven that Hillsong only care about accumulating people who “will not endure sound doctrine,”are only “wanting to have their ears tickled” and accumulating “for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires”.

So who was listening to God at Hillsong Conference 2015? The answer is: none.

“… preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” 2 Tim 4:2-4

This is Part 2 of my series of 3 articles. Please feel free to read my first article below:

Hillsong Insider (Part 1): “My exit out of a mega church… Never to return again”

In this article, I will be looking at how Hillsong asked Oslo Christian Center to join their godfather family in the spring of 2014.

insider

THE HILLSONG TAKEOVER

I was actually not at church the Sunday it was announced to the whole church. One of my friends met me later the same evening and excitedly told me that the church had joined the family of Hillsong.

I thought I wasn’t hearing right! Never in a hundred years did I expect the church to join the “family of Hillsong”!

I thought it was good enough, more than enough, in fact, all sufficient to be a part of the family of God!!! Whatever did it mean to join the family of Hillsong? What were the implications? It sounded like a good ole boys club scenario to me, where you get asked to join the club. It’s like, what on earth had we done to put us in the spotlight, enough to catch the attention of an Australian mega church on the other side of the globe? I realized all the Norwegian church members were really honored and touched that we had been asked to join their family. “Humbled,” in fact, to quote our pastor. That we would make the list and be asked to join was really amazing to the church members. Everybody thought it was very exciting!

I was curious to hear how the decision had played out. Had we voted on it? Or even talked about it? Had I had my head in the sand? How had I not even heard the buzz in the air? Was it really just landed on us with absolutely no warning?

It felt like boarding a train and knowing more or less that you will end up at this-and-this destination, but then midway, without warning, they change the engine and you head off in a completely different direction! You have no idea where the stops will be and much less where the destination is!  In short, I felt completely disoriented!

This was a huge decision on the church’s part, international in fact. How was it possible we had not been informed?

AN UNHEALTHY CHURCH MENTALITY

“So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” 1 Peter 5:1-4 (Emphasis mine)

I did some research and found out that no, indeed, I hadn’t missed a vote or earlier announcement. A couple of members seemed shocked that I even asked about a congregational vote. They explained to me with a wave of the hand that one can’t have all the grannies getting involved to vote on the color of the sanctuary curtains! One needs a team of leaders to make these decisions because otherwise one would never get anything done!  I couldn’t believe that was the explanation they tossed me!

I was seriously concerned about going to a church where the leadership made international decisions that they did not even run by us, the lay people, for some feed back. I asked some leaders if they had had prior knowledge. I was told that one month prior to the congregation being told, all the leaders, such as cell group leaders and various team leaders, were called in to a meeting and briefed on the idea. So first, the very top of the pyramid of leaders had discussed this, and when they had considered all the facts and felt it was a good idea, they presented it to the lesser leaders.

It was naturally presented in glowing terms by the top leaders, like it would only be a benefit to the church. We would of course keep our church name and own identity and operate church as usual. Joining Hillsong family would not affect our finances. But being part of the family of Hillsong would probably give us more access to Hillsong material and speakers and conferences and discounts of sorts. The leaders said at the meeting that they were open for feedback and thoughts around this decision.

It probably felt a bit like being a guest at a wedding.  “Speak now or forever hold your peace.”   Maybe some of the wedding guests have a certain gut feeling this marriage might not go well or are afraid the couple have not been entirely honest with one another or that they should give the relationship more time before they rush into this decision, but the doubting guest knows that the couple have made up their minds and nothing they say will probably stop them from taking their vows. Also, if they were to speak up and the couple got married anyway and lived happily ever after, then they would go down in history as the doubting guest with no faith in the couple’s commitment. Who is really going to risk their reputation and go out on a limb like that?

So I can imagine it was something like that at that meeting.  Any silent objectors stayed silent and hoped for the best! Just sprinkle some good faith over it and it will work out for the best. I mean, hey, what’s not to like about it? It’s a win win situation! It’s a warm wall at our back! I mean, who in their right mind would turn down such an offer?  It’s too good to be true! To get to be a part of famous Hillsong but still be our own identity?! Well, I wondered if it was just that:  too good to be true.

Sadly, I personally think this decision says lots about our leaders faith and trust in our congregation; our congregations faith and trust in our leadership; and most importantly, how we as a church have put our faith and trust into Hillsong to love, grow, comfort and support us rather than God.

How is joining Hillsong helping us if we are faithfully preaching God’s Word daily? What power do they have that we don’t already have? Why the pressure to join? What are we saying about our church and leadership now that we’ve joined Hillsong? That we were incompetent?

HILLSONG’S OPERATION BEHIND THE TAKEOVER

So what did I know about Hillsong?  About what every body else does.  They are famous for their praise and worship music. I had an album of their music that somebody had given me and I knew others who rushed to get their newest albums as they cranked them out. We all sing their songs at some point in our various churches of all denominations. It’s this big church and popular Bible school destination. I mean, who with money doesn’t feel God calling them to a year of Bible school in exotic Australia???!!!! That’s really about all I knew about them. I mean, they are way over there on the other side of the globe. There are enough church goings-on to keep up with over here.  Why pay any special attention to Hillsong other than their music?

But if we were becoming a member of Hillsong family, that must mean we line up with their doctrine and way of doing church. So I felt I better research the Hillsong pastors and see what they were up to, as I assumed we would be hearing more from them in the near future.  As I looked into Hillsong, absolutely everything alarmed me.

Bit by bit I pieced together our involvement with Hillsong.  Apparently we had history that went way back. Our pastor had studied at the Hillsong Bible School himself! So did someone at Hillsong Bible School give him the idea that he can convert his church into a Hillsong Church? If so, what Bible School would do such a thing? Why not hand over the church and start his own Hillsong Church upfront in Oslo?

When he returned to Norway, his father, who was the senior pastor and founder of Oslo Christian Center, gave him the opportunity to start a church in downtown Oslo. So the son started up a brand new church that was a branch of his father’s church. They rented Victoria Theater on the main drag in Oslo, a couple blocks from the palace. It was a theater that was a bar and concert venue the rest of the week. As I looked into Hillsong campus churches world wide, I noticed that seemed to be their trademark, renting secular theaters for church services. So we were apparently a chip off the old block! I guess it’s too embarrassing and uncool to meet in traditional churches. I assume this does not really accommodate the whole stage effect that these hip young “churches” are into.

I was told that Brian and Bobbie Houston had  been emotionally and spiritually supportive about our young pastor starting this church. They had really prayed over him. Then when the son took over as senior pastor when his father retired they also really prayed over him again!

One year later, after he had been functioning as senior pastor of the three campuses of Oslo Christian Center, Hillsong invited us to join their family.

I hate to be so nonspiritual that I just look at the cold hard facts of finance and business opportunities, but all the same, I found myself pondering some things.  Hillsong has a campus in Stockholm and Copenhagen… why not Norway? Norway is the most evangelical country of Scandinavia, so the market is big for a church like Hillsong. We have one of the best economies in the world and the highest standard of living. From a purely financial point of view, who wouldn’t want a piece of that pie?

Well, we were already here. So we would have been stiff competition for Hillsong, to be perfectly honest. So maybe Hillsong thought if you can’t beat them, join them. Whatever the case, I couldn’t get rid of this nagging feeling that this was a great strategy on the part of Hillsong.

It wasn’t only our church that joined the family of Hillsong.  A few months earlier, Intro Church also located in downtown Oslo, joined the family of Hillsong. We joined the family of Hillsong in the spring of 2014 and that summer, Norway was the most represented country at the London Hillsong summer conference.

A couple months before we joined the family of Hillsong, Pastor Clark from the London Hillsong campus, spoke at our leadership conference. That must have been a key weekend for all the leaders that were in the know! The following year after we had become members, they had three Hillsong pastors as speakers  at the leadership conference: Hillsong pastors from Stockholm, Copenhagen and London.

The latest checkup on the OKS.no website shows that they now have various groups you can join, such as, “The Creative Team,” “The Kingdom Builders,” and “The Sisterhood.”  These are ideas that come from Hillsong.

IS OUR CHURCH LOSING IT’S IDENTITY?

“O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.” Galatians 3:1 (Emphasis mine)

I remember the first Easter service I was at the church, the sermon our pastor preached was really good and strong. It was an excellent service and had an impact on many. In fact, the people that I invited to that Easter service ended up coming back because it made such an impression!

But a year later, around the time we were joining the Hillsong family, the Easter service was very different. First of all, our pastor did not preach, even though he was present. The pastor from Stockholm Hillsong preached. I just didn’t understand why the Hillsong pastor wouldn’t want to be preaching at his own church on Easter morning. And why would our pastor move over on such an important Sunday? This is the big Sunday they encourage everyone to invite guests and people that maybe don’t normally go to church. If I had invited anyone to church that Sunday, they wouldn’t have gotten an impression of our own pastor. The sermon was so unmemorable. I can’t even remember the main points.

But worst of all, was that they had a trapeze artist swinging from silk scarves hanging from the stage ceiling as the praise and worship band played. It was a total show! It did not at all help me to think about the real reason of “Resurrection Sunday.” The show took over and as our pastor got up to do announcements, he said, ” Wow! What are we going to do next Sunday to compete with this?!!”   And I thought, “Yes, what are you going to do? You have whet an unstoppable appetite. The show must go on. You have brought cake and circus to the church. Now you are going to get up and bore us with a sermon? Well, at least keep it short and sweet and peppy and fresh!”

When they tantalize our senses with so many experiences, they do not prepare us for a serious sermon. We just want more of the fun stuff. Oh please!

Don’t  we have enough entertainment on our T.V., internet, Facebook, and iPhones? Do we really come to church for more of the same stuff? Like trapeze artists swinging on silk scarves to the music of praise and worship? Talk about caving into the carnal desires of the flesh!

WHY can’t we stick with the simple Gospel? The King of the universe was born in a stable. When Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, came to Jerusalem for the Passover, which we now refer to as Palm Sunday, He rode in on a donkey. Just one Easter service at our church cost more then both of those events put together!  I couldn’t help thinking about the churches being burned in Pakistan and Egypt. Our dear brothers and sisters in Christ suffering and being martyred for the sake of the Gospel. Meanwhile we just pumped more and more money into presenting  the simple Gospel to wealthy, high-maintenance western Christians.

That was one of the last Sundays I was at that church. The next Sundays I came only to fulfill my cafe duties through to the end of the spring semester. I simply could no longer with good conscience support the theology which is of course the backbone of any church–what they believe and stand for and put the focus on.  I want to follow Jesus and not be a part of some big namebrand church that pumps loads of time and energy and money into entertaining the crowd.

HEADING DOWN HOUSTON RD

It was easy to see where Hillsong was headed. The Hillsong Praise Band has performed and worshiped with practicing Roman Catholics and partook in their pagan rites at the national Catholic World Youth Day, Sydney Australia.

That is called ecumenism. Hillsong work with other faiths that teach things that are not in the Bible, like praying to saints, and worshiping Mary. And then the Catholics in turn let all other forms of faith on the stage, like Buddhists and Hindus and Shamans.

Hillsong also shared their stage with Brian and Jenn Johnson of Bethel  in Redding, California. Hillsong let Brian and Jenn Johnson’s praise and worship band open up their 20l4 summer conference in London. Brian Johnson openly joked in an interview at a Hillsong praise and worship workshop, that the “Glory cloud of God” mostly shows up when it’s his song!

I find it toxic to be in an environment that openly laughs and jokes about holy things like the presence of God. The glory cloud of God is no laughing matter! We need to get back to, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).

Hillsong pastor of the New York campus says he has “conversations” about a sin like homosexuality. There is no “Thus saith the Lord”  unless it’s important issues to them like tithing and new prophetic statements. Also, how anybody can find the Hillsong promotional video for their 2015 summer conference inspirational, I will never understand.  They make God sound very far away, as if we can hardly hear Him in the “violence of silence, brutalizing the senses”. We are “drawn by a whisper that waits for our response.” What does this mean? It’s nothing but pagan mysticism presented as Christianity!

At no point do the creators of the promotional video say we actually have the words of God in our hands. A book called the Bible.  A living book that we are meant to open and read.  And every “whisper” that we hear blowing out in this vast universe is meant to line up with the word of God.  And if it that “whisper” does not line up with the word of God, you chuck it out!

Hillsongs vision for 2015 in their own words is a “dangerous declaration, a new manifesto.”  I would have to indeed agree with them: Hillsong has a new dangerous declaration that I want to stay far away from. Their new manifesto is another Gospel, another faith and another Jesus.

CONCLUSION

Above are just some of the unsettling truths I came across. I am still learning more frightening information about Hillsong as I write. Hillsong’s takeover of Garden City Church should concern Christians globally.

Hillsong insider: the GCC “merge” “was surely and truly a “plotted corporate takeover””

There is nothing ethical about the way Hillsong is undermine and take over churches like mine. These are people’s lives after all that will be affected. We need to be careful who we put our trust in. I personally, feel betrayed with my church’s conduct. I felt pressured and manipulated and I am sure others felt the same way.

To me, I wish my church was more forthcoming about this takeover in advance. Why could they not trust their congregation in voting on this very important issue? Why did the congregation blindly hand over their trust to the pastors to make this decision for them? Why the secrecy? While I discovered that it wasn’t hidden knowledge that my pastor studied at Hillsong and met with Brian Houston on some occasions, why was it decided that the entire church would be influenced from the top down in secret?

Everything was so carefully managed and orchestrated. Was our church informed about Hillsong’s history in Australia and New Zealand? There had been some scandals involving Pastor Frank Houston, Brian Houston and other Hillsong leaders. Are we to embrace their theology?

And what would happen if we became a proper bonefide Hillsong “Church”? Who will own the assets? What if my pastor realised that he made a mistake? Will Hillsong simply see him as an asset and discard him the way Hillsong has dealt with leaders or troublemakers in the past?

These are tough questions that I hope I will find answers to.

Brian Houston’s controversial concepts on Muslims & Homosexuals

HILLSONG’S FALSE INCLUSIVE GOSPEL

Hillsong has continually downplayed and rejected the Christian gospel and the need for repentance. The work of Cameron Buettel has continually exposed Hillsong’s continual lack of preaching the gospel of repentance.

As a result of this, we have noticed how Brian Houston has vehemently been grooming his church to be ecumenical and embrace different beliefs, ideas and forms of false “Christianity”.

Three things Brian Houston has been specifically pushing in Hillsong is Chrislam, (what we call) Queerstianity and pagan Roman Catholicism. In this article we will be looking at the definitions Brian Houston has provided so we can understand what he means by “Muslim” and “homosexual”. While Brian Houston is deliberately vague, he has provided us with just enough substance for us to see how his mind sees certain groups of individuals. In fact, he has created enough imagery for his audiences so he can conjure certain stereotypes in their minds.

ACCORDING TO BRIAN: MUSLIM = “MUSLIM EXTREMIST”

hillsong islam muslimEarlier this year, we exposed Brian Houston gas-lighting his audience to believe that Muslims and Christians serve/worship the same God. We pointed out the fact that Brian Houston was promoting the false liberal “inclusive” gospel and was pushing the idea that Christians can embrace Muslims as our Christian brothers and sisters (Chrislam).

Brian Houston’s Allah “clarification” exposed the fact that he has no problem deliberately misleading Christians around the world over the things he believes. Furthermore, in his statement he claims,

“If you listened to the message in its entirety, my point was that; who a Muslim extremist believes God is, determines what they believe God does, and what they believe God loves.” [Source] [Emphasis ours]

In Brian Houston’s Allah clarification he linked Muslim to “Muslim extremist”. In other words Houston appears to link Muslims to Muslim terrorists. However, in his sermon there was no such link made. In his sermon, he only referred to Muslims once. In his well though-out clarification to the media why did Brian Houston link Muslims to extremists?

What does the word “extremist” normally conjure? What was Brian Houston hoping to achieve in this?

ACCORDING TO BRIAN: HOMOSEXUAL = “CONFUSED IN THEIR SEXUALITY”

hillsong lgbtqi gay homosexualThis year we also published a series of articles exposing Brian Houston grooming his church to embrace what we call Queerstianity.

The Anthony Venn-Brown, John Shelby Spong and Ben Gresham connection have effectively been pushing the same-sex agenda behind the pulpit of Hillsong. As a result, Brian Houston and Hillsong are furthering the gay agenda.

Recently Brian Houston and his church hit American headlines over Houston’s remarks over same sex issues in America. As a result of Houston’s controversial statements, it appeared that some journalists, bloggers and apologists were digging through our articles and started reviewing the Houston/Gresham connection.

Certain individuals reviewed Brian Houston’s sermon “Scandal of Grace”. In this sermon, Houston said the following:

“Well it’s the weight when a young person growing up in a church feels like they are confused in their sexuality. They feel like “maybe I’m gay” and they go to a youth leader and they are rejected.” [Source]

So according to Brian Houston, someone who thinks they are gay is “confused in their sexuality“. In other words Houston thinks a homosexual can be someone with sexual identity problems.

Don’t think that this information is not important. It is. These insights into Houston’s mind are helpful for us considering his very controversial God-given vision for Hillsong at the beginning of this year for 2014 and the way Hillsong has progressed this year.

WHY PASTORS AND CHURCHES NEED TO WARN THEIR FLOCKS AGAINST HILLSONG

This article will be examining the false claims made by Hillsong’s invited guest speaker Rick Warren, in contrast to some damning evidence put out by the Roman Catholic Church on their 2008 World Youth Day.

hillsong islam muslimWe ask again, what god does Hillsong worship? We say this in light of Hillsong embracing pagan religions such as Islam and Roman Catholicism. We say “embracing” because of Brian Houston’s insistence that his movement preaches an inclusive gospel and an inclusive Jesus (a gospel and a Jesus you will not find in the bible).

Recently, Pastor Jordan Hall said the following about Hillsong’s invited guest speaker Rick Warren for next year’s Hillsong Conference 2015:

“What this man [Rick Warren] is demonstrating is that he is not a Christian brother… I think he is wicked folks…”

This is the video that Pastor Jordan Hall was reviewing.

Hear Jordan Hall review Rick Warren’s Roman Catholic promotional video below. This is well worth your while.

When this video was published on FaceBook by Catholic News Service, Dan Phillips from the Pyromaniacs blog commented on the above video.

“Absolutely appalling. What a wretched failure of Christian leadership… to say nothing of basic Christian fundamentals. God grant him repentance, and God spare others from being misled.”

Those that are being mislead are those that will be attending Hillsong Conference 2015 next year. What makes Hillsong conference so dangerous is that they are brazenly declare in their marketing gimmicks that Hillsong are hearing from God.

Their “SPEAK – WE’RE LISTENING” campaign is supposedly based on the prophet Samuel hearing from God in 1 Samuel 3:10. However, their choice of immoral and deceitful teachers are a clear indication that the Hillsong leadership are definitely not hearing from God and that they have no clue what a fine bible teacher looks like. One corrupt teacher they are still allowing to speak at Hillsong Conference 2015 is Rick Warren.

Houston claims Hillsong Conference are hearing from God and are bringing “the finest Bible teachers”

You know something is wrong with Driscoll when he is invited to speak at Hillsong Conference…

We remind you again that it was Tony Palmer that said to Kenneth Copeland’s Word of Faith cult that, “Brothers and sisters, Luther’s protest is over. Is yours?”

Well according to Rick Warren it is. And according to Hillsong it is. Why? Because they don’t stand for Jesus and His gospel. If they knew the Christian faith, they wouldn’t be pointing Christians to be “coming home to Rome” and worshiping their deity.

“Pillar of FIRE…” WYDSYD08 booklet

In our article on Hillsong embracing Roman Catholicism (Part 4), we went to great lengths exposing how Hillsong and the Roman Catholic church are grooming Christians and churches to embrace Rome.

Furthermore, we covered the fact that Hillsong had no issue leading thousands of Roman Catholics at World Youth Day in “worship”.

However, if you were in the city of Sydney in 2008, you could not escape the litter of small World Youth Day pamphlets titled “Pillar of FIRE, Pillar of TRUTH”.

This booklet specifically defines the difference between the Roman Catholic Church religion from Christianity, teaching what it means to be a true Roman Catholic.

The relevant pages below refute Rick Warren’s argument that Christians and Roman Catholics have “more in common”. After browsing the below booklet, Christians need to ask the question:

Do I believe Brian Houston, Rick Warren and the Pope that “Luther’s protest is over or are they trying lying to me?”

To give you an idea what is taught in the below booklet, we read,

Ecumenism: A doctrine that attempts to find common ground with all faiths and beliefs systems, applying pressure on individuals or religious groups to unite together for the “greater good” at the expense of watering down the core foundations of the Christian faith.

The Christian Post reports,

Hillsong Conference Kicks Off with Over 24,000

Internationally-known Hillsong Church kicked off its annual conference Monday, drawing over 24,000 Christians from all around the world to Sydney, Australia.

While the charismatic megachurch is most well known for its music ministry, its annual conferences focus on providing practical tools to churches and leaders to more effectively make a positive difference in their local community and the world.

And that is true for this year’s conference “more than ever before,” according to Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian Houston.

“There is great strength in the Church coming together, and it makes a powerful statement to our city and nation that the Church of Jesus Christ is alive and strong!” Houston exclaimed prior to the July 7-11 gathering, according to U.K.-based Christian Today.

This year’s conference is Hillsong’s 22nd and has drawn Christians from 21 denominations around Australia and 70 other countries.

And like last year’s conference, Hillsong is again highlighting the biblical call for social justice.

In welcoming the conference delegates, Tim Costello, chief executive of World Vision Australia, praised U2 frontman and anti-poverty campaigner Bono as a prophet of the movement to eliminate global poverty.

“Bono understands we cannot make poverty history unless the church rises up,” he said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. In addition his music, the Irish rock star is known for often using his star power to get people aware of HIV and poverty in the world, especially in Africa.

Hillsong’s Houston said the word justice and the responsibility it implied was a key message of the conference.

In the opening session Monday night, Pastor Robert Barriger called Christians to action. “What matters is we are just the church and the church is the salt of the earth and we can make the world better. Just because we are the church.”

Barriger leads a church called Camino de Vida in Lima, Peru, where he has been a missionary for 25 years. His rapidly-growing church is involved in a range of social justice projects across the nation, including child health initiatives and the distribution of more than 40,000 wheelchairs to the physically challenged.

In addition to the call to justice, several other themes overarch the conference including uniting “the generations” and building strong local churches that are helping to bring answers, hope and a sense of community for people.

“This conference is not for the weak or fainthearted, yet it will encourage and raise those who are to ‘be strong and of exceptional courage,” the Hillsong team expressed in a statement to potential attendees. “For over 20 years the testimony of this gathering, has been churches, teams and individuals whose ‘rising’ has radically changed the world they influence.”

It’s a gathering of “[m]en, women and youth, whose passion is to make known and famous the God of their Salvation, and effectively communicate His Gospel to a searching, lost and dying humanity,” they added.

The event is also serving as a warm-up act to World Youth Day, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of Catholic youth from Australia and around the world next week. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Catholic Church is borrowing Hillsong’s headline act for World Youth Day in its own attempt at mass youth evangelism. Hillsong’s worship pastor, Darlene Zschech, and her band will perform at a concert held after the Stations of the Cross on Friday, July 18.

Catholic World Youth Day events will take place July 15-20, ending with a papal mass that is expected to draw up to half a million people.

Symphony of Scripture writes,

Hillsong Says: Reformers Fought for Nothing

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. (2 Corinthians 11:3-4)

For many years now, Christians throughout the world have spoken out against the unbiblical gospel that is presented by Australia’s Hillsong church. However, time and time again, the popular organization has refused to reform their ways. Their apathy for truth and right doctrine has lead many to suspect that the leadership of Hillsong know very little of biblical doctrine and the historic faith. Well, it is now safe to say our suspicions have, unfortunately, been confirmed.

Hillsong church are promoting and uniting with the gospel of the Roman Catholic religion. On a poster advertising World Youth Day, Hillsong worship leader Darlene Zschech says:

“We see WYD08 as a great opportunity to serve the Catholic Church in its vision to present the gospel and reach out to our city, our nation and our world in unity.” (Source)

The gospel, Darlene? Which gospel would that be?

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
(Galatians 1:8-10)

And if you don’t think that Hillsong endorses the Roman Catholic Cult today, hear is their approval of Pope Francis through their beloved Darlene Zschech.

“@crouchydon: God bless Pope Francis 1 .. May he lead the Catholic Church into her finest days yet…good news of the Gospel be experienced”

— Darlene Zschech (@DarleneZschech) March 13, 2013

Why I Left Hill$ong Campus

Written by Lance Goodall

by Lance Goodall

Franchised:

I was an active member of Garden City Christian Church (GCCC) for 9 years from March 2001 to October 2009, under the leadership of Bruce Hills, pastor.

It was a great surprise to me, and to many others, that there was about to be a take- over by Hillsong.

After his return from 3 months leave, Bruce Hills was told by the board of GCCC in November 2008, that they wanted a pastor who was more of a CEO to run the church.1

By his own confession Bruce was told to resign.2

This begs the questions, “How long had the board been thinking of changing the leadership?” And who contacted whom? Did Brian Houston contact GCCC, or did the current assistant pastor Steve Dixon (SD) pick up the phone and raise the matter with Hillsong?

Brian Houston became Brisbane’s senior pastor under the guidance, leadership and affirmation of assistant pastor SD and the board of GCCC. So called “campus pastor” Steve Dixon according to a report in the Courier Mail was at the time unsure how long he would remain part of the pastoral team.3

Another question that begs an answer is, “Why did the elders and board members of GCCC unanimously endorse the “takeover” by Hillsong and Brian Houston as senior pastor without investigating Hillsong for themselves?” On the day of the members’ vote, a number of the elders stood on stage and testified that they had never ventured south to attend even one Hillsong conference in Sydney, yet they were backing this change all the way!

Members and adherents of GCCC weren’t given any opportunity to make any suggestions, nor was there any open discussion of leadership alternatives. The decision had been made. GCCC members were simply presented with one leadership appointment, and asked to vote.

There had been only one side of the story told. The information was always presented in a positive light, with little opportunity to question, or linger on doubts. Any questions raised were screened and well managed. I have since learned this is a technique used by the business world to manage change. There had been more spin over the pulpit in God’s name, during these months, than found in your average Colgate commercial.

Once the decision was made, GCCC became an instant “franchise” of Hillsong. The Church is now market driven under the guise of being – “purpose driven”.

Identity Crisis:

GCCC has totally lost its identity!

Without a moment to breathe, the leadership from Sydney suddenly arrived putting their stamp on this new way to “do church”. We were presented with a spokesman for this, and a spokesman for that. We even had a special “Money Preacher” to encourage and remind us of the need to tithe and give generously. Such coercion from a “church” viz Hillsong, which is a juggernaut financially, with a turnover of of $50 million plus a year4 is neither godly nor, in my opinion, acceptable.

We were no longer just affiliated with strong ties to Hillsong, we became Hillsong!

From day one everything had to change, and it did. For example – there was a fairly new coat of paint on the “church” walls from previous renovations, painted to a modern grey. Yet within days of the signs, and the optic fibre going in the carpark, the auditorium was repainted to the colour of the other Hillsong churches. Why spend the money?

As part of the takeover we had the celebrity gala feast; this one, and that one, from Hillsong Sydney visiting to give their counsel, and ideas. All the rich and famous were given a slot, and place of honour. For those who couldn’t get enough of their Hillsong idols they could now have them visit here in Queensland. With every guest appearance, Brian Houston became more like an Amway Diamond, than a pastor.

Hillsong is run as a Corporation not a church in its operation.

There is no New Testament precedent for this model and certainly not for its duplication.

The Church has taken its cue from Wall Street. It has been offered the kingdoms of this world, and yet instead of denying the flesh, it has embraced the path of least resistance, and in so doing, has denied the cross, and the One who bought us.

J. Edwin Orr pointed out that “seldom does God call one who ministers the Word to the ministry of money making. They are two separate callings.”5

By love for the world, we make ourselves an enemy of the cross:

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him – 1 John 2:15.

Ambition and Success are the new golden calf.

Warren W. Wiersbe comments;

Few things taint our goodness like covetousness; a desire to be popular, and the ecstatic feeling that comes when we exercise power over the people who give us their idolatrous adoration. When our motives are wrong; our ministry is wrong; and the consequences are tragic for us, for those who follow us and for the whole church.6

This is now playing itself out at Hillsong Brisbane.

Seeking to be Sensitive:

The Hillsong way actually follows to the letter what is known as the Seeker Sensitive or Church Growth Movement model. This model is to help bring “unchurched” sinners into the meetings, and to make them as comfortable as possible with the experience.

  • Dress down in clothing and style. Jeans are the new formal wear;
  • Low mood lighting similar to a bar or nightclub. In Brisbane campus, it is so dimly lit it appears like night time, yet it’s 10:30 am in the morning. Quite a contrast especially in Queensland when the sun is up at 5:30 am;
  • Secular music is played as background music prior to the start of the service. eg The Verve – Bitter Sweet Symphony;
  • Worship – now accommodates the excitability of the young and the unchurched;
  • Music is now more about entertainment than the sole purpose of lifting up our God above all other gods;
  • The lyrics (words) of the songs have progressively become “I, me, my” focused instead of Christ Jesus focused – e.g. In Your Freedom I will live;
  • Worship is now limited to 20 minutes;
  • Big screens are not there for the glory of God. It’s not pictures of creation, but the names and faces of those on stage that are lifted up;
  • Hillsong relies on the quality of programmes not the power of the Holy Spirit for transformed lives;
  • Preaching is now a standard 20 minute sermonette;
  • Preaching on the whole is “relevant” and topical. It is now a people based message to “help” the hearer with their felt-needs e.g. happiness, family , finances, relationships, job, career etc;

This type of pop spirituality effectively teaches:

  • Every human being is divine or basically good;
  • God’s Word is not really the final authority, but is still useful as a moral guide;
  • The goal of my life is centred on me;
  • What I desire determines what happens in my life.

What this type of church model does, is nothing more than increase the numbers of adherents, and leaves the sinner in his sins. The church now has a flock of deceived sheep, or are they in reality misguided goats?

Massaging the Message:

  • Messages lack any mention of sin, repentance, prayer, obedience, death to self, holiness, sacrifice, suffering, hell, even God himself.
  • Preaching lacks sound doctrine. Closer analysis reveals it is more based around pop psychology, than biblical truth.
  • The message has little challenge or need for personal self assessment.

Yet the scripture exhorts us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith – 2 Corinthians 13:5

The preaching frequently includes different Bible versions. This includes The Message, which is a perversion and not a true translation.

  • Often this is quoted in church to expound or reveal a greater truth. It is normally thrown up on the big screen for everyone to read. The Message was produced by Eugene Peterson, as a simple paraphase, not as a translation from the original texts. Yet without fail, not a Sunday will go by without this Bible version being quoted.
  • To show the  degree we have strayed, the KJV has over 700 references to “Lord” in the New Testament alone. The Message has just 23 verses which mention “Lord”. But the real concern is that “Lord” is never once associated or found linked to “Jesus” in any way in The Message.

Brian Houston frequently preaches a message that is a watered down gospel. He teaches from Bible verses that were never meant to say what he teaches. This is known as Eisegesis.

Eisegesis (from the Greek root εις, meaning into, in, among) is the process of misinterpreting a text in such a way that it introduces one’s own ideas, reading into the text. This is best understood when contrasted with Exegesis. While exegesis draws out the meaning from the text, eisegesis occurs when a reader reads his/her interpretation into the text. As a result, exegesis tends to be objective when employed effectively while eisegesis is regarded as highly subjective.

Verses are used just because they have a certain word or contain a truth that fits with his message.

Houston Heterodoxy:

Brian Houston lacks or is happy to ignore all forms of discernment;

Brian Houston’s preaching could be termed “Heterodox Humanism”

He happily accepts and promotes the following teachers most of whom have personally been at Hillsong Conferences.

You will also find these people’s books as the only books available in the Hillsong Resource Centres (bookshop), along with Brian and Bobby’s material of course!7

  • Joyce Meyer – Prosperity Teacher/ Preacher. cf. Paul’s instruction about women teachers – 1 Timothy 2:12.
  • Joel Osteen – Prosperity Preacher and denier of the true Gospel
  • Jerry Saville – Prosperity Preacher
  • T D Jakes – Prosperity Preacher and denier of the trinity (advertised as guest speaker at the 2010 Hillsong Conference).
  • Rick Warren – member of the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) trained under Robert H. Schuller (a la – The Hour of Power)
  • Bill Hybels – Pastor of Willow Creek Church – who has admitted getting it wrong with the Seeker Sensitive model. Hybels trained under Robert H. Schuller and is good friends with Rick Warren. According to Schuller — Self Esteem is the new reformation!! He defines sin as a lack of “self-esteem”.
  • Pearsons – Jeremy Pearsons (wife Sarah) son-in-law of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland—visited Hillsong Powerhouse in Sydney in October 2009 for Encounter ’098
  • Hillsong United band played for the Pope  during his visit to Sydney in 2008.
  • Sisterhood (a term widely used by Hillsong) is a concept borrowed from the Women’s liberation movement, and the new age.

Darwin’s Day:

Finally one of the worst instances of spiritual bankruptcy I’ve experienced was the live performance of the “Hillsong Creation story”, featured at Hillsong Brisbane on 11-Oct-2009.

Aspects can only be touched on here. The play was done in humour, and obviously aimed at a child audience. However the fun and humour ends very quickly, where the creation narrative turns into a sham and a circus. Plants and animals were various members of the congregation, dressed in costumes. More and more characters appeared on stage, and we had six or more of the cast from the pastoral team. Somehow we were meant to make the mental leap, as a congregation, from the bouncing chicken and the freckle faced rat to God’s act of creating our world and the Universe out of nothing!?!

The seven days of creation were played out by various actors and God even created for us – “Superheros”, like Batman and the Incredible Hulk, both making a guest appearance. God is so “great”, that He invented superheros, can openers, and cars!

The Holy Spirit at one stage was taking too long to come –“hovering over the waters”. Towards the end Adam and Eve appeared clothed (minus the fall, sin and satan, and God’s provision). The story ends ….

Steve Dixon then expounded for about twenty minutes the creation story as found in Genesis chapters 1 and 2.

He touched on a few points expressing the view that we are not able to know the exact time frame of God’s creation, whether it was a literal seven days, or a certain period of time which God took to make earth.9

Darwin would have been proud on this 150th Anniversary of his Origin of Species, and Richard Dawkins would be more than bemused.

The Church in the West for too long has sailed along in fair seas. The Zephyr has fluttered at our sails in the height of summer, and has blown comfort upon the people. Our ship has sailed below sapphire skies, the crew sleeps, while the current of the world, and tides of apostasy have taken us off course, and we barely know it.

The worst of it is, darkening clouds beckon on the horizon, bringing a storm of ecumenism and coming persecution with barely anyone to trim the sail of this wayward vessel.

Conclusion:

Since the introduction of Hillsong to Brisbane, this once truly relevant and purposeful church has been sideswiped. A church birthed in humility and zeal by its founders, who gave all to the cause of Christ, have now become a people who have lost their way, and now dance to the flute of the musician, whose song is not the song of the Lord.

The love of fame and fortune have been Christianized, and an unsuspecting flock now give their allegiance to a captain who cares “little, if anything, for their salvation”.

It must be said that they who began well have turned aside to follow a shepherd who is no shepherd. The hireling has crept in unawares.
Paul complained in his day:

For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s – Philippians 2: 20, 21.

The way once narrow, now abandoned, has become a broadened highway, opening up to the verdant plains leading on to the gates of a city that arises in the distance. It is that great city, clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! It is a city proud, that city upon seven hills – BABYLON.
